Topic: RE: Support groups
The hospital I had surgery at has a support group but it is only once a month on Saturday mornings. I have been twice; the second month after my surgery I was sick in bed and couldn't make it. I wish there were meetings more often...like weekly. I would really enjoy talking to people face to face and more often. I find this site very helpful too, but would like still like real meetings each week. Does anyone know of any support group meetings in the San Francisco Bay area that I could go to? Diana

My surgeon has a chat support group the first and third Wednesdays of the month that I attend. They are ok and you do here things that you don't hear in the doctor's office. There are enough people where I live that have had or are contemplating having the surgery that we are starting a group on Mondays at 7. The one who is heading it up is a nurse that had the surgery about 6 months ago. She is really cool. I think that the more support you have the better. Diona

Topic: RE: calcium citrate in a chew
I've been looking for it but our Walmart doesn't have it yet. I have too hard of a time taking the petites - have to cut into four. That's a lot of pills when they are only 200 mg per tablet. Don't they come in fruit flavored? Diona

Has everyone found the new calcium citrate at Walmart? It is a chewable, but doesn't really compare to viactiv. I bought the chocolate mint and fudge kinds, but they also had lemon and caramel. Each box is a 15 day supply if you take two a day for under $6 a box. I had been using calcium carbonate because I couldn't find the right kind before. Then I ordered a horse sized pill that was supposed to be slow dissolve from bariatric eating which really made the roof of my mouth very sore. I am happy to have these new ones.

I really love this stuff. I have tried the strawberry and blackberry. They are the only flavors my walmart carries. Congrats on the job.

Petty, I have not been to a support group meeting. Not because I do not want to go, but because I went two hours away to have my surgery. The group meeting is held at 6pm on Monday nights. I really would like to go just to get an experience from it. Melissa

Amista, You cannot control the lives of other people. Its not you fault things have worked out well for you, and you are doing better for yourself. Keep your head up high and continue to love the people who are being negative toward you. Please do not let other people bring you down, not for something you have worked so hard for. Melissa
