Topic: Emotional Ride?
How is the emotional ride so far? I am maintaining sanity but some days it is harder. I have been told the fat cells store estrogen and the flushing of so much fat in a short period of time puts more hormone imbalance into play. Whatever it is, it is wearing me out. Is anyone else experiencing any oddities? I can laugh and cry in the same sentence. My reaction to outside influences is all over the board. I am not allowing myself to make major life altering decsions right now because I do not trust my own judgement. (No new cars this week!!) What's is happening to your life, if anything? Vicky

Topic: RE: Support groups
There are two support groups in my area. I have attended both. The first one is at the hopsital where I had surgery and with only my surgeon's patients. There is a leader in the group who does 90% of the talking. It is informative, however, I am not experiencing the same troubles she had so relating to her story is getting harder. The other group is not affliated with any surgeon or hospital. It is a round table discussion with a lot of poeple speaking. I am responsible for sorting out what is good information and what is one person's experience. Both groups have good points. I plan to conitnue attending. It is good therapy to know others have walked the same road. I am not a group joiner for stuff like this. But I figure, my old habits got me where I am so maybe I need to learn some new habits. I am giving it my best girl scout effort. Vicky

Topic: RE: calcium citrate in a chew
I tried these the are from citracal the only reason I stopped taking them is because of the calories and sugar. I went to the vitamin shoppe and found some citrus chewables that arent that bad, but those chews from Citracal, they are good I must admit.

Topic: RE: Has anyone started to lose their hair?
Jane: I forgot to answer the second part of your question...Yes, I have been eating salads for about a month. I too was craving them. I even tried a pretty dense salad made with carrots, celery, red bell peppers and onions. If you chew very thoroughly, it is fine. I know some people can't tolerate salads ever, so I was a little scared to try, but after I did I was just fine with them. I actually eat a lot of fruits and veggies now, both raw and cooked. Just chew, chew, chew! Diana

Topic: RE: Has anyone started to lose their hair?
Hi Jane and everyone: I was really worried about losing hair because mine is so fine, that if I lost any, it would be BAD. Anyway, so far I haven't lost any hair. I don't know why. The only thing I can figure is that I don't drink liquid protein drinks at all and I get most of my protein from animal sources: dairy and meat. I have heard that there is a difference between complete proteins and incomplete proteins. Animal products are complete, and plant products (soy, vegetable proteins) are incomplete. Anyway, *****ally knows? I am just feeling very lucky not to be losing what little hair I have!!

Topic: RE: Strictures - what a ride!
Thanks everyone. I am feeling better and starting to get my strength back. Main thing I have noticed is that I do things and then don't remember doing them! I'm sure it is residual from the drugs they gave me! Today I ate and drank most of the day and am finishing it off with Isopure with my pills before bed. Dr. said to eat something within the first hour of getting up and before I go to bed so I figured that was a great time for Isopure - 10 ounces/20 grams protein in the am and again before bed. Diona

I'm not losing any hair...my hair has gotten longer and shinier. I've been taking 5mg of Biotin since I was able to start my supplements, (not really sure if it's genetics or the Biotin. My Dr. ok's the salad and I'm loving it!
