Funny you mention the boobs..I have lost 48 pounds so far. I started at 227.5, now 179 , a loss of about 48 pounds. I started out as a 20 and am now a baggy 16..buying very tight 14's to wear in a few weeks (I hope! LOL!). I have not changed in my boobs. No bra size change except for using the tighest hooks. I was amazed (dismazed? hehe!) How could this be? Made me wonder if I was strapping the girls into too small a size. I was looking forward to lossing some up top..always felt top heavy. I dream about the little bras with lace and flowers, not the steel reinforced over the shoulder boulder holders. Oh well! PS I read your profile..I couldn't believe your pictures. You are looking sooo fine! Really! You look wonderful!! Whatever you are doing is working beautifully. Sunny

Ok, so I had to put this update in. I am getting so frustrated at my weight loss. Yes, I know I should be greatful that I have had the chance to have surgery. Yes, I know I should be happy about the almost 80lbs I have lost. But, for some reason I am starting to gain a little back. What have I been doing, or not been doing you might ask?? The only thing different with my life here lately is that I have not been working out. Week before last, I did something to my back. So, I felt the best thing to do was to stay away from working out until I got things together with my back. I am not eating more calories, I am not taking in more carbs, sugars, or anything like that. I have been trying to make sure that I am getting in all my protein. I do know how important that is. But, other than this nothing has changed. Earlier last week, I was down to 278lbs. Then tonight I am back up to 281. What in the heck is going on? I have heard of people loosing weight and then putting it back on, but I never thought it would happen to me. I do not know what to do. Melissa

I am doing well. I had surgery on 12-27-06 I am down almost 80lbs since surgery. My eating is not the best. I have to start getting more protein in. I work out at curves at least 5 days a week, walk a mile the other two days. My vits could also be better. All things I am working to imporve. Melissa

After 3 months you should be able to eat meat - if not, you may have a stricture. You'd better check with your doctor. A stricture does not have to be complete but it can be a tight opening that won't allow meat to pass because the scar tissue pushes up. I have had to have a couple dilations and now can eat about anything. I also had a staple that interferred with food passing through. If you want to get all your protein in, check with your surgeon. It's nothing to fix! Diona

Hello, Had my surgery 12/20. So far have lost 72 pounds. Have gone from a size 26 to a size 18. Exercise 4-6x per week (cardio and weights). Have had a pretty smooth ride as far as food goes as long as I avoid meat (it sticks), dairy (nausea) and too many carbs (I dump). I am getting all of my vitamins in and consuming around 80 grams of protein a day. For me personally I can't imagine being able to get anywhere near the amt. of protein I need daily from food alone. I simply can not consume enough food to meet my protein needs at this point. I do notice a direct correlation between my rate of weight loss and protein consumption. The days I do 80+ grams I lose more weight. If I slip down to 50-60 my weight loss slows. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. Paula T 279/207/150

Topic: Anyone forget to eat?
ok it's been almost 4 months-I'm doing good with the protein (protein shakes, bars and food) but I find since I don't get hungry I forget to eat!! Oh, and I am horrible with the water! (All that drink and wait to eat) My diet for the past few weeks consist of Breakfast-protein shake lunch- 1/2 cup chilli sometimes a snack in the afternoon when I remember or have time at work- usually some cheddar cheese Dinner- depends, more chilli or look thru the cabinets or refrig trying to find something that will sit well at night and end up w/ another protein shake. I need to try more types of food.......but I am actually ''tired of food". Before I used to LIVE TO EAT, now I feel I EAT TO LIVE! Any advice on things to try? How to get the water in? How to get my "feelings" for food back? (I guess not the old bad feeling that got me here in the first place!) Cheryl

Hello all. I had my surgery on Dec. 8 and am down 63 pounds. Long way to go-but I did have a wow moment yesterday-getting into a size 20 jeans-tight but I got the zipper up!! Now, if I could only walk in them-LOL. Anyway, I'm still plugging along-I try to excersise 6 days a week-and watching what I eat. I have some problems with food-not able to eat most fish, or chicken-but certianly capable of scarfing down the crackers and munchie mix. Today, I'm heading out to church with my family and we're supposed to be having chicken breast for dinner-so I think I'll try a small piece and see if I do any better.
