Topic: Protein for life??!
Hello everyone. I am fairly new here and have a couple of questions. hopefully somebody can offer their insight. First, As far as protein is concernced, is this a lifetime thing? I mean, will i have to focus on a high protein diet forever or until fully recouperated. Also, when in comes down to portions, how do you know if you're eating too little or not enough if you lack that "full" feeling? I am three months out and am eating still 3oz. of food. How will i determine if that is enough and for how long? At 4 months out, is 3oz. still the norm or what? I heard somewhere that a good rule of thumb is to eat your month's worth in ounces. For instance, if you're 4 months out, you eat 4 oz. , 6 months out, 6 oz. and so on. Is this completely stupid?

Topic: RE: Hey Surgery twins! (december surgeries)
Hi I am doing pretty well. Had surgery on 12/16 with a weight of 338, as of today I am down 80 pounds! I started out at 30/32 and today I am a 22. I thank God for the surgery. The ups and downs. I could do better on the vitamins and protein though. I am starting to see hair loss. I try to exercise, if not everyday with Walk Away the Pounds, I am exercising every other day with one of Denise Austin videos. Life is grand on the weightloss point... JaNae 338/258/175

Can you crush the pills and mix in something to slide down? My doctor suggested applesauce.....

Topic: still can't take pills
I am not having a problem with food at all. I guess because I chew and chew and chew. But I can not take pills. I am biting them into thirds. They are getting hung and boy do they hurt and make me feel like crap. I try to get liquid meds when ever I can. I have tried to let them melt in water. I did that until I was about ready to gag from that. The ones I am having the trouble with now is the Allerga 180. The pollen here is murder but than again so are these pills.

Melissa, We all go through ups and downs with our weight. I have. I would recommend that you try to walk a little. I have back problems too and walking stretches out the sore muscles and helps with spasms. It will also send a message to your metabolism to get in gear again. Remember, this whole process HAS to work as long as you are eating right and moving. I hope your back is better and you are losing again as you read this. Hang in there...NOONE ever said that this was easy. It is hard work as we all found out. BUT, very much worth it! sunny.

Congratulations!!! I had my surgery on the same day, Patty. I had my 3 month check up today and was down 56lbs. The doctor said he would have been happy if I had only lost 36 lbs, so he was very happy and so was I. I have to go back in 2 weeks for lab work check up and I hope to be down another 7 lbs. We should all be so proud of ourselves. Keep up the good work. Jen

Today is my 3 Month anniversary and I'm officially down 50lbs!!!! I feel so much better and I look so much better. I couldn't be happier with this surgery. I've had ZERO complications and I'm doing great. I'm eating well, getting in all my protein, vitamins and water and I'm starting to get into the exercise a little more. My next personal goal is to get under 200, which hopefully will be soon since I'm cutting back on fats and exercising. This is going to be a fabulous summer!!!!!!! Patty 262/212/150
