Topic: RE: What are you eating now????
i have been eating just about everything - just not alot of anything. I even had a couple bites of filet last night (small bites, well chewed) - we were at a fancy dinner and I felt bad that I couldn't eat more but was full. The waiter asked it anything was wrong... even ate 2 bites of the dessert and that was enough. The only thing that I still have trouble with at times is chicken for some reason - and I used to eat chicken alot. Have been eating more lately but am loosing more weight for some reason than I was. Don't think that I was eating enough variety for awhile.

Yaaaaaaaayyyy for you. I put mine in the coffe, milk and cocoa every morning. Thats the only way I can stand it. Does your Doctor want you to take protein for life. Mine wants me off but I feel I need at least one protein drink a day to get it all in

Topic: Vitamin C
I found the article below on my surgeon's website. It is very informative on the role of Vit C. I found some easy to take Vit C at the health food store - small tablets. It is by Nature's Life C-500 Complex. 250 Tablets. VITAMIN C Vitamin C is a nutrient essential for the health of our cells. It is found only in fruits and vegetables, and it is in highest quantities in fresh, uncooked foods. Vitamin C is one of the least stable vitamins. Cooking can destroy much of this water-soluble vitamin from foods. Foods In Which It Is Found: Citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, limes, tangerines, and grapefruits), acerola cherries, papayas, cantaloupes, strawberries, peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, asparagus, parsley, dark leafy greens, and cabbage. Why We Need It: C is in charge of the formation and maintenance of collagen, the basis of connective tissue found in skin, ligaments, cartilage, vertebral discs, joint linings, capillary walls, bones, and teeth. How Much? How Often?: PostOps need 1000mg of Vitamin C each day. Supplements should be taken as time-released or at four-hour intervals. Vitamin C is used by the body in about two hours. It is usually out of the blood within three to four hours. Other Considerations: Smokers don't absorb vitamin C as easily. Nor do people who are ill or taking antibiotics, cortisone, aspirin, or pain medications. Signs of Deficiency: In a word, Scurvy. Muscle weakness, tooth loss, bleeding gums, and easy bruising. Signs of Toxicity: For most purposes, Vitamin C is non-toxic. Diarrhea is a common sign of Vitamin C saturation. Special to WLS Patients: Vitamin C assists in calcium absorption and can increase iron absorption.

Topic: New discovery for me
So, as some of us know I have been having a rough time with my protein intake. Today, I was having my morning coffe and thought I would try adding the protein powder to it. Well, low in behold it went down ok and I did not even taste the nasty protein powder. So, I am not sure how long its going to last, but as of now I have had 40grams of protein by using the powder. Yeah for me. Melissa

Surgery date 12/05/05 Starting weight 337 Current Weight 263 Loss so far 74 pounds!! I went clothes shopping for the first time yesterday and had a blast trying on everything. I haven't been able to shop at Fashion Bug or Walmart for at least 5 years but I wear a 2X now. I found so many cute tops that I had to keep reminding myself not to buy too much because it won't fit in a few months. WHAT A GOOD FEELING, could have danced in the middle of the store.
