Topic: RE: 3-1/2 months out - Reflux
I'm right with you. I had reflux pre-surgery but nothing like I am now. (it's much worse) My Dr. gave me Prevacid but it doesn't last so I am taking Prilosec OTC in between. I had an UGI and reflux is all it showed for me too. I have an appt. in a week or so and I'm hoping to get some answers then. I'm kind of worried that with all this acid, I'll end up with an ulcer. It's just no fun feeling icky all the time, is it? I keep telling myself by 6 months out, surely I'll be feeling better. Hopefully, you will too. Keep us posted. Since I'm experiencing the same thing, I'll watch for updates from you.

I also hate protein powder with a passion! I have found a couple of ways to tolerate it as well...Matrix chocolate warm with some instant coffee crystals is palatable...vanilla protein powder blended with some frozen strawberries or other fruit, any crystal light flavor to taste, and water is AWESOME!!!!

May surgery date was 12/28/05 also. My starting weight was 225.5 Current weight - 174 Loss so far - 51.5 pounds - Goal - 125 ish I'm 5'6" tall also. Things are going better now that I'm stricture free. I even ate 2 oz for dinner which is more than I usually eat! And I feel fine. Been drinking gatorade and now my energy is finally getting better - long as I don't over do it! Diona

Hi Melissa, I use Unjury unflavored in my Danon FitnLite yogurt. Delicious. Also use vanilla ProComplex in orange sunrise crystal lite - tastes like an orange julius. Yummy Chicken is still difficult. Tuna, ground meats, lo-fat cheese and cottage cheese, lo-fat turkey lunch meat, shrimp and egg beaters are good sources. I also love most of the protein bars and shakes - just lucky I guess. Good luck! Shar

Surgery date-12/08/05 Starting weight--282 Current weight---217 65 pounds off. Started at a tight 26-28-this morning my size 22 slacks were getting too big. I know I have a long way to go-but at least I'm heading in the right direction for a change.
