Topic: RE: 3-1/2 months out - Reflux
Hi Linda -
I"m glad you called your surgeon. The scope is how they tell whether you have a stricture. If you do, they use a little balloon to dilate it during the procedure. So...if you have one, they'll find and take care of it at the same time. They can also find out if you have an ulcer or not. I go to my Surgeon friday for my regular appt. and at this point I'm hoping he'll want to do a scope on me. I'll be suprised if I have a stricture cause I'm not vomiting either. I wouldn't be suprised if he found an ulcer though. All this acid has got to be doing some kind of damage I would think. Hopefully we'll get this taken care of soon. If your like me, you're pretty tired of feeling bad all the time. I'll be watching for your post to say how the scope went.

I called my surgeon's office yesterday and I'm scheduled for an endoscopy Friday morning. Hopefully, I'll have an answer and a possible resolution to this pain. Is that how they tell if you have a stricture (through a scope). However, I never throw up -- I just have the pain.

I tried to not laugh, Petty, I really did! But I did
I've done that a few times. In fact, I've scared the you-know-what outta myself two of those times.
My desk at work is along a row of windows. I got up to use the restroom. About halfway there, I could see this reflection in the window of someone behind me. I turned around to say hi to them, but there weren't there. Bewildered, I turned around and looked at the reflection and realized it was ME!
My boyfriend and I recently went out to lunch together. After lunch, we both got up to leave. I headed to the cash register to pay for our lunch while he put his jacket on. After I was done, I looked around for him because I hadn't seen him. He was walking around in a little circle looking for something (I thought he was looking to see which direction the restrooms were). I walked over and asked him, "What are you looking for? The restrooms?" He said, "No, I was looking for you--but a heavier you. And I couldn't find you!" I was only 10 feet away, but 70 pounds smaller
Our moments of "WOW" aren't over yet! Thanks for sharing your personal story with us
It was a good laugh--a heartfelt appreciation for the new you

Wedding planning is a great distraction for me while I am finishing up grad school (this May). Instead of writing my final papers.. I surf the internet looking for wedding shtuff & ideals. Almost everything is planned and overpayed for. Inivations were mailed on Saturday.. so I guess this is really gonna happen. Excited really.. my ever so superficial dreams of loosing all kinds of weight before walking down the aisle are actually coming true.. hehe. who knew!!!
thanks for asking
April
