Topic: RE: Great idea for meats!
I ate 5 tiny pieces of charcoal grilled top sirloin with no problems yesterday and it was so delicious!! I have to admit I am getitng tired of chicken, occassional lean ham and refried beans. I have gotten quite used to Motzerella cheese and 3 reduced fat wheat thins for breakfast though. It is good to know there is something else I can have every once in awhile and do okay. The only vegetables I do well with is cooked carrots, brocoli and green beans, but they have hardly any nutritional value so I do not like to eat them. I have tried peas, but find the pea outsides do not chew up very well. I do like V8 though and cucumber.

Hi! I just went over my 4 month date. I have lost 73 lbs, & gone from tight 30/32 shirts to size 22, and pants from elastic 30/32 to size 24 jeans or size 22 with elastic waists. I still have 96 lbs to go, but hey at least it is under 100 lbs to go now, and I weigh a weight I have not seen in over 13 years!! I do water exercises 3 times a week for 35-40 minutes, but have not done it this week due to a very bad respiratory infection.
I just started my last 2 classes at College, graduate in June, my program GPA is 4.0 and cumulative of everything I have ever taken there is 3.75 so I get to wear honor cords at graduation!!! Blessings.....

Topic: RE: What are you eating today?
Hmmm... maybe this is why I am not losing weight fast enough... I don't think I am eating enough. But I always start out ok...
B: chocolate protien shake (36 g protein)
L: 1/2 cup cottage cheese (14 g protein)
S: gold fish crackers (4 g protein)
D: half taco with ground turkey and fat free beans (not enough)
and I'm working on getting in 64 oz of plain water. I just found out that decaf coffee and tea do not count towards my water intake
Thank heaven for true lemon!

Topic: Great idea for meats!
Hey guys! I've had a hard time with meats. My mother gave me a brilliant suggestion. She suggested that I put my meats into a pressure cooker and then add the cooked meat into whatever recipe I'm cooking for the day. I just tried some boneless and skinless chicken and it came out super soft! No problem with it whatsoever (which is a miracle in itself for me). The best part of it was that I put the chicken in frozen (it's allowed!) and followed a food chart and 10 minutes later it was fully cooked and super tender. I'm making chicken enchilada's for the family (no bread for me, but that's cool) tonight. I bet it would do really well for steaks as well. I just thought I'd pass the tip along!
I also googled "pressure cooker recipes" and came up with a lot of great looking recipe ideas.
Hope this helps!
God Bless

Topic: RE: Exercise Survey
I am so thankful for posts like this! I had just been walking about 30 minutes four days a week, but after finding new inspiration here, I am on my second day of Taebo (30 minutes) along with the walking. Sweating has never felt so great! Thanks for the motivation!

Topic: RE: Hey Everyone! Give us a report on your progress!
Hi Diana,
My surgery was on December 20th. I have lost 73 pounds and seem to be on a plateau. I had a lot of trouble eating until about 1 week ago, but I am finally feeling better and eating better. My goal is 150 so I have 48 pounds to lose.
Good luck, and God bless you all.

Topic: Hey Everyone! Give us a report on your progress!
I thought it would be encouraging for all the December people to report on how we have been doing. We are in our 4th month since surgery...how's it going? How much weight have you lost? How much are you exercising? How many pounds do you have to your goal (if you have one).
Here's mine: Had surgery on Dec 27. I have lost 61 lbs since surgery and 71 since I began this journey. I exercise about 5 days a week and I just take a brisk 35 minute walk. If my goal weight is 130, I have 90 more pounds to lose (that seems like a lot). Since I am only 5'1", I guess I am supposed to get there, but I can't remember EVER weighing that!!

Topic: RE: throw up queen
Diana,
I know how you feel about the throwing up. For the first few months, I was throwing up on a constant basis. I usually knew why I threw up: drinking while eating, not chewing, taking big bites, etc. It went a way a little after month 2 but recently I have noticed that I am throwing up again. Not as much as before but occasionally. I scare my mother because it usually happens around her but I told her that I am fine. I am going to my surgeon's office today and will discuss it with her. I think it is still because I eat too fast and don't chew enough when I eat my meats.
Just know that you are not alone and this too shall pass...

Don't feel too bad about 12 chips..I can remember eating the WHOLE bag not so long ago! You really don't have to deprive yourself of anything..moderation is the key..well, sugar is the one thing I've learned to psyc myself into thinking it doesn't exist anymore.
Anyway..I had a many days of regrets..for example, I've been working so much lately that twice in the past few weeks, I had ordered two large pizza's from Pizza hut, thin and cripy super supreme's last week for the three of us (on sale, buy one get another for 5.00)..humm, well, I would eat one peice then kept going back throughout the day and the next and was only satified when it was all gone..I did give some to the dogs..i know what you mean about the dogs..Mine are getting fat too!
I did manage to lose 4lbs this week..so I figure, once in a while, Living it up doesn't hurt too much..jus****ch out for DAILY indulgence.
After eating all that pizza, I wasn't hungry for a few days. LOL and was thursty as all get-out!!
