Hi Diana,
Sounds like you are doing great!
I had surgery on Dec. 28th and have lost 54.5 pounds since surgery. I exercise for three days and then take a day off to rest. Today is my rest day and boy am I tired. I have been walking 3 miles at lunch and then doing Curves after work! And Sunday we walked 5 miles! Sure feels good to be able to move again. My goal is 130 ish but my surgeon's goal is 155 - I'm 5'6" but have very slender bones so I like my goal better! I weighed 117 after my son was born and when I was 32 I weighed in at 127 so I know I can do it! If it wasn't for all the prednisone and my hormones going haywire, I don't think I would have gained all the weight. I'm a skinny person at heart - my nickname was bones growing up.
Keep up the great work!

oops. I guess they're California restaurants -- or west coast ones, anyhow, as I know I've seen at least one in Oregon.

I had my surgery on 12/16 and I've been losing hair for at least 6 weeks now. I wear my hair short but it is really thinning. I wi**** would slow down (better yet, stop). I get at least 60-70 grams of protein a day (I drink two protein drinks per day) and it hasn't made any difference as far as the hair loss. In fact, I think it's thinning out faster at this time. Good luck.

Topic: RE: Ideas for mixing protein powder...
My surgery was on 12/16/05. I have had trouble with protein powders as well. I have purchased a few protein powders, but couldn't tolerate them. However, I use Zero Carb Isopure Creamy Vanilla. GNC has it. I use a blender, and use 8-10 oz. skim milk, one scoop of protein powder, and about 1 tsp. of cocoa powder, and about 1 tsp. of sugar free strawberry preserves (I don't know how I came up with that). I blend it up and it's like a frothy chocolate milk. It gives you about 32 grams of protein and I drink one on the way to work and one before bed. I can't seem to get in enough protein from eating regular food. I just found out last week that I have an ulcer (I knew it before the scope) and I have trouble with eating -- I seem to do better drinking for now. I don't know if this will help, but maybe you can try it. Good luck. The protein drink thing is tough for some of us.

Your are right, we all are so different. I was using the Unjury (choc) 2 scoops mixed with 1 cup milk for 48 grams protein and 260 cal. But I can not stand that anymore. I have tried the Isopure and it is okay. But recently I found Liquid Protein on bariatriceating.com. It is only 2.9 fl oz and 25 gram protein and 100 cal, no carb/fat. I can choke down 2.9 oz of anything. It is alittle pricey

I like Wendy's chili too. Especially good as one of the first pureed foods you can have. YUM.
Today I went to Red Lobster for lunch-I had the Talipia in a bag-YUMMY. Also like Smokey Bones-portabella mushroom stuffed with feta. I haven't even heard of the restaraunts in the first post.
