That's great, Man!! We have the same surgery date. I had my RNY on 12/13/05 in Bogata', Columbia. You've got me beat, I am down 109. We just keep chug-chug-chugging along!

Thanks for your reply. And yes, we seem to be able to talk about just about anything. But that's a good thing. I will try a little Benefiber in my drink this morning.

Topic: RE: Stomach troubles
No real problems. I have started putting one teaspoon of Benefiber in my morning protien shake. I was used to going every morning. When I didn't it bothered my brain more than it did me. Now I am back to every morning and there is hardly anything there. Just a brain thang. Oh we are such a group. We can talk about ANYTHING

Topic: Stomach troubles
I read these posts every day and I don't see that anyone talks about ulcers and/or other tummy troubles. I had my surgery on 12/16 and I have had a lot of problems - feelings of indigestion, etc. I found out two weeks ago that I have an ulcer (I suspected that from the way I feel). I'm taking medicine for that so hopefully that will clear up, but it makes eating enough difficult. I do drink protein drinks and am getting enough protein (I think). I also have recently had an episode of diverticulitis and was in the hospital for 4 days on IV antibiotics. I am having a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks to see how that's going. I may have to have a colon resecton surgery, but I sure hope not. They say it's nothing to do with the surgery and that's good. I do have a lot of problems with feelings of constipation. Was wondering if any of you have this problem. I am taking Benefiber and also Phillips Milk of Magnesia on a pretty regular basis.
Anyway, I know I went on but I would like to know if there are stomach troubles among us 4-monthers.

OK, this is right on target with my feelings. I had my RNY on 12/16/05 and have lost approximately 70 lbs. (including the 2-week liquid diet pre-op). I'm 57 and expected to have some loose skin, but come on. I have always been heavier on the top and didn't have much of a butt or even thighs (for my size), but I've lost so much down there it is almost unbelievable. I too sometimes see myself in a mirror and don't recognize myself. And talk about bat wings - and inner thighs hanging.
I'm very happy with my weight loss. I am no longer on my diabetes or blood pressure meds - that's wonderful. I do have an ulcer, however, but that's being treated.
While I'm writing, I would like to get some idea of what ya'll are eating. I think I'm not eating enough -- I've been a little slow to try things becuase of my tummy troubles. I drink two protein drinks per day to make sure I'm getting in enough protein and I'm getting in my liquids, but I find it hard to eat enough in between all the drinking, etc.
If any of you would give me an idea of what you are eating, I would appreciate it.
Back on subject, I think we're all doing very well and unfortunately the loose skin goes with the territory.

I am exactly 4 months from surgery and have gone from 255# to 185# - with a 70 pound loss so far!
I added everyones loss since surgery and we total a grand 1366 pounds!!!
How amazing is that - imagine how many bags of dogfood or sacks of potatoes that would be! Won't be long until we have literally lost a ton!

Last week I didn't loose anything - I was gone the last 2 days and lost 3 pounds. I swear the better I eat the more that I loose - when I eat out I have some salad and more vegetables than I have at home. Plus I think that part of it was eating some popcorn with salt last week - I think that it made me retain water for a few days...
