Topic: WOW moment
Well I think I had my moment...actually a couple of them. First one is I can now see daylight between my thighs....I don't even remember that when I was in grade school! The second is I took hubby to his surgeon today and caught him looking at my boobs! Not that it offended hubby any, he was flattered! So was I, John (the surgeon, I have known him for years before he became a doctor) has always been good looking and not that much older then I am. He also said I look really good. Talk about a WOW when a doctor is looking down your shirt. Happy losing all, Brooke

It's sounds so bad.. but I go shopping (no buy.. just look) or just get out of the house.. anything but be at home.. distractions aren't a solution but thay are a nice way for your mind to relax and spend some much needed time away from whatever it is that stressess.. we need breaks. I also see a counselor who has worked with others who have had WLS.. I have seen her through the whole process and it's been godsend to have her understand and just listen and not judge.. super nice.. highly recommended. April

Topic: Speaking about percentages..
I thought I would post this to everyone.. There is a really cool tool I heard about way back when on this site.. if any of you would like to check it out.. it kinda helps you figure out what percentage weight loss track you are on.. it's a nice projector.. at least for me it has been. Go to http://www.thinnerself.com/ -Click on the "Chart your Weight" button.. fill the chart out with whatever data you have.. -If you then click on the "calculate current %" it will do the math for you based on your own weight loss.. which is really neat.. -if you then click on the "create report" button it creates this nifty little report so you can see where you are at in the process. -Warning.. the report also gives advice about how much protein and water you should intake according to your exercise level.. and well.. it's kinda astronomical.. so don't mind to that so much.. but the other parts of the report are super cool. -And if you don't delete your cookies on a regular basis.. and you save the page to your favorites.. it remembers the data you enter so you don't have to do that over and over again on later dates. Have fun April

I like these kind of numbers.. Started at 254.. I think I want to get to 140 because I'm on the shorter side.. (5'3").. but I'm happy with whatever happens from here on out.. I feel great!! To date.. I've lost 66 lbs.. so my percentage is ~58% April

Just don't give up, please. I am in therapy and take medication for my depression. Our road CAN be lonely, and it can frustrate us. Try some therapy if you possibly can, either with a therapist or with a minister. We DESERVE to have that wonderful life that is ahead of us! HUGS, Pat

Topic: RE: Calories? and what about Heavy Weights?
Whether I want to or not the perpetual dieter in me calculates all the calories in my head on a daily basis.. cause that's an auto-pilot thing I can't control.. but I've decided that I just can't write thatt shtuff down anymore.. instead I choose healthy food and do whatever I want with it.. life is so much easier this way. I've lost 66 pounds so far with this method.. with no stalls lasting over 1.5 weeks.. so I'm happy with the results. I personally just can't get back into a diet mentality.. I did it all my life to no avail.. and now.. I am finally free of it and am still making the right choices without the guilt of numbers or all that other jazz. Calories are the devil.. hehe jk Congrats on your weight loss.. it's superb.. April

Topic: Update
Its been a long time since I've posted anything and I can't figure out how to add to my profile page so thought I would do it here. My surgery was Dec. 30, 2005 which all went fine but I developed complications including a heart problem which was found because of the complications I had in which I ended up back in the hospital for another week in January 2006. It's been a long process and I'm just finally feeling better and getting back to a somewhat regular routine. In these last four months I have lost 70 pounds and am off all blood pressure, allergy medicine, and prozac which I had been on for about 12 years and never could get off of any of it. I was also on oxygen therapy mostly at night for over a year and could not get along without it and now I haven't needed that for over 2 weeks. This is all incredible to me and I am very grateful this has happened and look forward to a better live that I had. When I knew I had to do the surgery I thought ok in three weeks I will be back to work never realizing it would be over three months I would be out of work but I am a firm believer things happen for reasons and it is all for my own good. None of it was easy but the out come is worth it. Also could someone let me know how to update my profile page. Thank you !
