From your note I presume you have not had your surgery yet. We have all gone through that waiting period, it IS hard. But well worth it later. Just to let you know, you are logged in here under the forum for people who had surgery Dec of 2005. If you want to talk to others in your same situation, look under the forum listings, and select one. They just completely changed this whole website, it will take awhile for me to get used to it.

Topic: RE: What does your daily menu look like these days?
This was yesterday: Breakfast: Low Carb instant oatmeal - banana bread flavor made with carb control milk. Half a banana Protein shake about 2 hours later. Lunch: slice of meatloaf, carb control yogurt, piece of sugar free chocolate. Dinner: Couple of crackers with cheese, small chicken breast stuffed with cheese and a little piece of prosciuttini. Couple of green beans, and sugar free chocolate pudding moose. Later -- two slices of colby cheese (I felt guilty about eating that cheese - I didn't really need it) Today so far: Breakfast: Low carb oatmeal - cinnamon flavor, half banana Protein shake Lunch: half cup of low fat egg salad spread on four small crackers 1/4 chocolate moose (low fat sugar free), piece of sugar free chocolate My breakfast usually consist of some sort of oatmeal or eggs with a small bit of meat and cheese. Lunch is leftover from previous dinners. My meals have no bread (although I have tried some pita bread), no noodles (although I have had a little tiny bit of lasagna a couple of times), no rice unless mixed in meat as in a stuffed pepper type of thing, salad is now acceptable to me, have had bad luck with mushrooms (which I loved) so I won't do those, most meats even the dense ones are usually good to me unless I eat too fast or don't take my time to chew, veggies of all types have been good. Moose recipe: Instant SF pudding mix (Jello brand only - Royal sucks) Hand whip with 1.5 cup of carb control milk for two min. mix in 1 cup of fat free/sugar free whipped topping Chill and serve Butterscotch, Lemon, and Chocolate are all good.

Topic: Back Pains...
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing lower back pains? I used to have a sore back when I was at my heaviest (like 287-292 lbs) and I though that losing weight would make them go away. They did for a while, but now they are back. I thought it might have been my Taebo workout. A friend who was a ballet dancer told me that losing a lot of weight rapidly can throw off your posture. Another friend just said that my abs were not strong enough. A third said my back pack was too heavy. I am planning on calling my doctor tomorrow, but just curious if I am alone in this or if it may be WLS related. Thanks, Jessie L.

Topic: RE: The hair loss is starting...
Hi Susan, My hair has also started falling out in chunks (even when I use a pick to comb it!) I know Biotin is supposed to help. And making sure you get enough protein. I try to get 60 g minimum. I have this icky "vanilla cake batter" tasting protein powder from cost-co but I added a scoop of unsweeted cocoa poweder and a packet of splenda and then mix it with water and milk for 16 oz of 36 grams of protein. I also found drinking it with a straw makes it more tolerable (can't smell it as much). I love beef jerkey. It's low in fat and carbs, high in protein, and best of all, it's portable!! (Great for a student on the go, LOL). My hair was falling out before surgery due to stress too! Luckily I have about five pounds of hair so it's not too noticable (except around my hair line - bangs anyone?) A new hair cut may also help! Jessie L.

Hi Kim. I started out at 227.5. I am now 167. My goal weight is 118. That is very similar to you. Have you found fitday.com yet? I find that very helpful in tracking what I eat. There is also a lightweight board on OH . There you will meet similarly weighted friends. I hope you get your new approvals soon. Hope to see you on the loosing side soon. sunny

Topic: What does your daily menu look like these days?
Hi December people: I was wondering if it would be helpful to see what people are eating. Are many of you still drinking protein shakes and bars or are you on regular foods now for the most part? How about posting a sample menu? I find that I am able to eat more now. Here's my menu for today: Breakfast: 2 rice cakes with 1 Tbsp peanut butter Decaf, nonfat latte with tsp sugar Snack: 1 banana Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwich with diet mayo and lettuce. S: Apple Dinner: 1 or 2 chicken enchiladas (depends on how much I can eat) pinto beans (homemade) S: skinny cow ice cream sandwich (150 calories) or Healthy Choice Bar (90 calories) Water: about 10 cups daily (80 oz) Exercise: walk one mile in the evening (30 minute walk) Diana
