Topic: RE: I've been in rebellion....
Hey there. We had surgery on the same day! My scale hasn't budged in two weeks. The week before that I lost a pound a day, so I was getting excited... that didn't last long. I think we're due our first plateau. It'll be alright though. As a DSer, I know I need to up my protein and water and probably go no/lower carb for a bit to bust it. I'm not sure what's a good bust for RNYers, though. This is expected and will pass! :)

1. Pre-op weight/Current weight/Goal weight?? 279/187/140 2. What types of exercise? How often? Circuit weights and Elliptical/treadmill 4x or more per week 3. Favorite food? Fresh Vegetables of any kind and strawberries 4. Any problems, concerns, issues? Loose arm skin is starting to drive me nuts. Some loose skin elsewhere but the upper arm skin is starting to chafe and itch during/after exercise. 5. Any advice you have to offer? Research your surgery and all that will be expected of you prior to surgery. This really helped me to prepare for surgery and all the changes afterwards Paula T. 12/20/06 RNY

My goodness girl!!!! "less than 20 pounds from hitting 100"???? Don't you realise that your doing amazing?? Come on now, be glad for the weight you lost and don't mess it up by trying to starve-your body will rebel and you will stop losing. Go have a protein shake. (have I mentioned that I love them?)

I think your doing wonderfully! I am "only" down 78 pounds, and PROUD of it! On a typical day=I substitute one meal with a protein shake-usually breakfast. Like today- B-protein shake-made with frozen fruit L-1/2 a lean cuisine=and a ff brownie D-pulled pork (just a little), tomatoes and greenbeans-mixed together--ff potato chips ( I know not the best thing), some fruit with ff topping. If I get hungry in the evening, I try and make it another protein shake-also, If I overdo lunch-like if I go out to eat-then I'll have a protein shake for dinner. My goodness, don't underestimate your success.

117 lbs is so awsome!! Could it be your not eating very much? I was told by my nut. 800-1000 calories a day. 7.30 Protein shake (coffe and SF syrups) 9.00 Hand full of Kashi cereal 12.30 3/4c food - usually tuna and tomato with FF Thousand island dressing or chicken and vegi, or carne asada with tomato, lime, onion 3.00 hand full cereal or peanuts 6.00 About a cup (or more-ouch) of food. I have just gotten in all my water as of a few weeks ago. I can eat more, but limit myself. As of today I have not gotten 'too full' but dont pu**** because I dont want the weight loss to stop. I have stalled again (3rd time) at 203.5 I am just aching to get to 199!!! Fit day helps keep track of calories, try using that. And stalls happen to us, its frusterating but passes.

I've never used it, but have read on these boards that it has caused weight gain for many women. Good luck. Sherry

Topic: What and how often do you eat?
I have lost 117 lbs since my surgery. Don't get me wrong I am very thankful, but I have stalled. I know this is normal and will happen a lot, but extremely aggrevating. I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks then last weeks I lost 4 lbs. Now once again I am stuck. I am getting in my protein and excersing daily. I don't think I am eating too much or too often, but I am curious about everyone else at my stage. This has been a normal day of eating for me.. 8:00 breakfast 1/2 protein bar (I can't eat the whole thing) 10:00 protein shake made with skim milk 1:00 lunch 1/2 cup bean soup/ carrots or celery w/ a little light dip 3:00 protein shake made with skim milk 4:00 small snack usually string cheese or handful or popcorn 6:00 or7:00 turkey on 1/4 wrap with 1 slice of bacon and ranch also water, water, water Does tthis sound like too much? maybe I am eating too much. When I wrote it down it looks like a lot. Help ME! How much can you eat at a setting? How often do you eat? What kind of foods do you eat? Thanks! Michelle

Topic: Bruisng Question
Ok I had my surgery on 12/16/05 and have lost 80 pounds as of today.. I have been bruising horribly.. the blood vessels in my hands seem to be extreamly fragile and the burst without doing anything to them.. I had like 12 small bruises on my hand this morning they followed along my blood veins and boy did they sting, so I know they were burst blood vessels but I didnt hit my hand or anything so im not sure how they got there... and i have bruises all over my legs from where I bump into stuff... When i had my 3 month blood work I had low B12, So now Im doing the Sublingual (Spelling) and Im doing the Calcium.. along with my daily vit. My Question, Is anyone else having this issue? Should i be concerned, and call my Dr.. Or is it because Ive lost so much fat between my blood vessels and my skin that they are just more voulnerable?? Thank you all in advanced.. (((HUGS))) Dori
