Topic: Carbs
I had been doing pretty good abou****ching the carb intake. Well yesterday I BLEW it clear out of the Gulf Waters. My grandson came in from school. He said I wish you would make me (him not me) some home made fries like you used to. I said ok. This is a 14 year old that could eat a whale and it wouldn't show. So I am peeling 3 medium size potatoes for him (not me). Couldn't do it. I peeled one for me too! Where oh where is the will power. Out in the trash with the peelings. I fried the frys. Took the one out for me. Salt, ketcup and grease!!!! I looked at the amount of potatoes on my plate and said its ok I'll never be able to eat all of it. I did! Didn't dump on the grease/oil or the ketcup. I could not believe I ate the whole thing! You ate it PK! You ate the whole thing and didn't dump. Well I paid for it this morning. Since the surgery I had not had a weight gain. I have had plenty of stalls but not one weight gain. Well I gained two pounds. Serves me right. He asked for frys for him not ME! Today no carbs and back to the protein. Every day will not be good. Its not having one bad day then another and another and another. Fell off the horse so I am back on today. Any one else with this problem???? I get on the obesity home page. I get to looking at the before and after pictures then I don't have time to post on our site.

Topic: RE: What and how often do you eat?
Funny you should post this, just when I've slowed down A LOT and my appetite has returned. I'm being careful and following the pouch rules, but my capacity has really changed and I can eat much more and I do get hungry. I eat every few hours and that includes protein drinks. B - cottage cheese and blueberries S - crackers, or cheese stick. or soy crackers L- Salad with tuna or turkey S - protein drink D-chicken/fish/meat with salad and veggies S - soy crisps or jello or yogurt So I'm 800-1000 calories a day, but I went almost a month with no loss and now its starting again but much more slowly. Sound normal to all of you?? My 6-month check is jUne 8 and I'll ask, but from what you all say, maybe this is when we have to be careful and watchful. What do you think? Carol

Keri - Its when we admit it to ourselves when we decide to wake up and start all over again - there are days where I forget to eat - eat salt and vinegar chips, forget my vitamins. forget to drink at least 1 bottle of water but u I know that the only one to change the habit is me and here our OH family understands that - that's why when i know i've been naughty to come here fess up and start all over again hang in there girlie Jo

Hi JaNae and everyone!!!! 1. 274 / 194 / 135 2. I am now working part time at a health club and regularly use weight (circuit), treadmill (45minutes) at least 4-5x's a week. I feel my strenth coming back, tone, definition, sometimes I get frustrated at the slower rate of weight loss, but it is consistent with 95% body fat loss. 3. Favorite foods: refried beans and cheese, still split pea soup, those damn Ritz mix 100 calorie packs, bananas and cantelope 4. No problems just if I eat too much it takes me like an hour to recover and I actually FEEL the food in my stomach sitting. No concerns or issues. 5. Advice: work out as much as possible, each time you use the treadmill increase the speed, time and incline also using weights helps with weight loss and definition. See my photos on webpage. I cannot believe it has been 5 months already. Good luck to everyone!

Melissa, thank you for the reply. I think everyone gets those "never gonna get there" feelings too. I think that is why I love the boards because of the commraderie of "hey we are all going threw the same thing" I think I was just having a pity party for myself. I know what I have to do it is just getting my butt in gear to do it! Thanks again for your support it is so nice to just be able to throw things out there. Your wonderful for replying! keri

Hi Diona I've been swelling for ever. I take a diuretic once a week to see my actual weight loss. Then I fill back up and wait till next week. This has been my pattern for the last 2 years while losing 120 pounds. The doctor recently refilled my prescription so must think it pretty normal - for me at least. Best to get your Dr's opinion. Good Luck Shar
