Topic: Doing great - just checking in after surgery 5 months ago!
Hey all! How is everyone feeling these days? It has been a long time since I've been on the boards. I have lost a total of 93 lbs so far (including the weight I lost before surgery). I had surgery 12-5-06 at Westchester Medical Center - Dr Kaul - and have been doing great. Sure there have been bumps in the road but nothing serious. I am actually training for a marathon! Yes, me, who could barely walk, me who had 3 back surgeries and sever arthritis in her feet! Ye, on June 11th, I will be running/walking a full 26.2 marathon in Kona, Hawaii for the American Stroke Association. I just ran 20 miles yesterday! It's been amazing over these past 5 months to build up my endurance and walk/run farther & farther. I only just started running (jogging actually) a few months ago for the first time in my life! There is NO WAY I wou;d've ever thought to do anything like this if I didn't have WLS. This is a way to exercise, be motivated, challenge myself, lose skin and CELEBRATE this new life I have. I also started a support group in my area (Southern Dutchess County, NY) if anyone is interested in attending, please contact me for more info. I'm also going to try to get on the boards more often. If anyone would like to chat, please email me. Blessings to all~ Lisa

Topic: RE: The Numbers game - calling all December babies
I've lost a total of 77lbs since my surgery on 12-9-05. So, 77+85=162 lbs.

Topic: The Numbers game - calling all December babies
Faith saw this "game" done somewhere else a few months back. she just love it and thought that we could play it again. The way it works is I'll start by listing the amount that I have lost. You add your amount and give the total. The next person adds their amount and so on. I went to see the dr on 5/3 for my ( a lil over 4 month ) check up ( surgery Dec 21) and was happy to be 234lb - 56 lbs gone since surgery total of 85 lbs from my highest 319 . So December babies - here goes let's start with 85 lbs

Topic: Vomiting and stretching
Hi everyone, I had surgery 5/12/05 I eighed 400 pounds the morning of surgery, this morning I weighed 280. I'm happy about the weight loss, but I've had 4 endoscopies with 3 stretches and the 4th scope they discovered an ulcer. I went a couple of weeks without throwing up and I was starting to eat solid food. Well, I'm throwing up again and having a lot of pain. I'm also having alot of nausea, which is new. Has anyone else had these problems? This is all getting tiresome.

Thanks so much Judy, you know I saw that comment section, but I wasn't sure that was the place to use. Thanks again, Lynn

Hi Lynn, There is no such thing as a dumb question! - Look up at the top right of your screen and find "My Account" on a blue bar. Click on that, then log in. - When the "view your profile" screen pops up, scroll down to the heading "General Information." Click on that heading and it will take you to the "Update your file" data entry screen. - Scroll about 3/4 of the way down the screen to the "Comments" section. You can enter your updates in the big white box provided. - After your updates are complete, scroll down to the bottom and click on the "Update My File" button. That is all you have to do. Looking forward to reading your updates! Judy

Topic: I have a dumb question
Hi everyone, I am getting a little crazed, I have been stalled now for almost 2 weeks. I guess this is natural, but it still sucks.. anyway my question is I can't figure out how you all are able to write in your profile, I have been reading all your profiles for awhile now, but I haven't figured out how to write my own journey. I hope someone could help me. It is proabley something really simple, but for some reason I just haven't figured it out. Thanks for your time. Lynn

Great news, Erin! Just a few weeks ago I moved down a notch to plain old obese, and it felt really good! Keep up the good work. HUGS, Pat
