Topic: RE: Hair loss--anyone still having it?
I am with you! This morning I thought a huge bug was in the shower with me but when I looked down it was 1X1 inch hair ball! I had thick hair to begin with but I can see through to my scalp.

Yes, I still have a covered drain after every shampoo, and hair on my pillow as well. I understand the period of 3-8 months is when and then should improve. I hope so, since I can really tell the difference. Thankfully, I had a lot of hair, so you can't tell unless you remember my old hair. Taking Biotin and Zinc and protein and water, but I guess this is just a part of it all.

((((hugs)))) I know that the hair loss thing is a pain. I have kept my hair in extentions the whole time since surgery and the short time I wore a wig I didn't really notice. I am about to take my extensions out so we shall see how bad it is. Hoping it gets better.

I am still losing my hair, but it is not as bad as it was a month ago. I know that one day it will stop so I am not really concerned. I just get upset when my hair does not want to do anything.

Thank the Lord, mine has nearly stopped.
I think the hair loss was because of my limited food intake..I'm eating pretty much these days, everything I want except sugar.. compared to what I was eating just a month ago when I was going thru a weight loss stall. I'm taking in about 1000 cal a day now maybe more somedays and my weight is melting off and my hair is thick and shiney!..
I think I was in starvation mode.
I sure feel better, too!!!

Yes, I am still having hair loss..mine also seems to be worse. I got my hair cut shorter and in layers, so no one can really tell, unless I show them, but it still bothers me alot. I cannot wear my hair pulled back anymore which I like to do. My surgeon said it should get better by 6 months, which is coming up soon so I sure hope so.

Hello December 2005 WLS-ers:
Just wondering: anyone out there still experiencing hair loss? Mine seems to be getting worse, not better. No bald spots yet, but I'm wondering if that's where I'm headed.... LOL!

Lisa,
WOW--congrats on your success! It's stories like yours that keep me focused on what's actually achievable with WLS. Congrats--your hard work is really paying off...
Question for you: how did you go about training for the marathon? I would like to run the Marine Corps marathon someday, and I don't even know how to begin training for this. I would appreciate your sharing how you've worked up to 20 miles at a time so far--that's amazing to me!
Good luck,
