I am a numbers person........ I know, B O R I N G !!!!
How are you doing on the percent of weight you want to lose and what you have lost to date?
I want to lose 100 pounds to be at my goal weight of 140 (5'4").
To date, I have lost 56 pounds or 56%.
Would you share what your percent of loss is to date?
Vicky
I don't have a goal. So no percentage. Where ever I land is a long way from 315 so I am kool with it. I am 5' 6 1/2" and 5 feet of that are legs. I haven't to much thought one way or the other how much I would like to weigh or what size I would like to be. The sizes are a really hard thing for me to handle. They have changed so much. Back in the 70's when I weighed 150 I wore 12s and 14s. Now I see people saying they are wearing much lesser sizes for that same weight and height. The last time I posted was 214 when I made it to 101lbs lost. I would love to be out of the 200s thats a goal for me. Then from there I'll just have to see.
Well since surgery I have lost 77 pounds from 258 day of surgery to 183 today. My goal weight is 145 for my height 5'7". So I have 38 to go. The total I want to lose is 115 pounds. As far as the percent I am not sure. I am not that good with math I could have figured yours! Lol I am guessing around 70%

The thing with numbers is you can frame them to look however you want.
For example I have lost 83 pounds, but I am also only 5'3". That same amount on 5 ft or 5"10 would be a huge difference. Also, I have gone from size 32 pants to 22. I have lost 48.2% of the weight I need to take off. To me, looking at still 51.2% of my weight to lose does not look the same as looking at 88 more lbs, or losing 5 more sizes. Numbers have been such a head game for me for so many years, that I just keep doing what I am supposed to do eating right, vitamins and calcium and water and exercising. I do not have beginning measurements or a picture at top weight, although I did recently find one last Sept at Disney World that was probably within 12 lbs of my top wt. and looking at it is really an eye-opener.
Going from SUPER OBESE PAST EXTREMELY OBESE INTO "OBESE" Now that was something to celebrate for me anyway!!!
For me the most positive numbers are how long I have done well, and done my exercise. That number is 99%, now that is something to strive to continue!
