Weight stand still
Hi everyone,
I am just about 5 months out...had surgery on 12/5/05 and up until about 3 1/2 weeks ago I was losing. I had lost a total of 70lbs...now since April 8th...the scale hasnt budged a lb... I havent changed anything in the past few months...still lots of protein...lots of water, etc..but no weight loss....I will be the same weight all week...
My question is this...is this normal to have a "stand still" or plateau for almost a month so soon out???
I was reallly hoping that by June ( my wedding anniversary) that I would be near goal...which is still about 35 more pounds... We are in May now and I havent budged an ounce...Any suggestions????
Thanks December Losers

Hi, Lisa. You didn't mention whether or not you are exercising. During my third month out, I wasn't exericising and my weight loss was very slow. Since then, I've been walking 5 days a week and it is very steady. Since you are getting closer to goal, you might have to increase your activity to see the same weight loss results. Best wishes to you and congratulations on your weight loss thus far!

I am five months out also and have lost 63 lbs. I feel great about it -- you should feel wonderful about your weight loss! I have 25 more to go until my goal. I've been exercising 45 minutes seven days a week and it helps. I try to have two shakes a day to get the weight loss going again. So far, I've plateaued for about a week now. Good luck to you in your weight loss journey.

Lisa,
We are on the same page, I have just come out of a 3 week stall. This morning the scale moved down 6lbs. Someone mentioned exercise...I have been an exercise fanatic in preparation for last week's vacation. I walked many, miles before, during and after with my weight actually going up a couple pounds. I recently read some posts from the big losers in our group and decided to go back to the basics. I have up'd my protein and watched my portions. I've noticed that I've started grazing when I'm bored. Since, I'm only averaging about 10lbs a month this stall has put me off schedule.
Stay encouraged and positive.

p.s. 2lbs may have been from hair. I had to get it shaved off due to all of the breakage/hair loss.
