Hey guys,
I haven't posted in here before today, and I just wanted to introduce myself. I had my Laproscopic RNY - proximal on Dec 12 of 2005. I am down 83 pounds so far. I feel great.
The weight is coming off slower now than I would like, but I am sure it is normal. I would like to get down to 165, although my surgeon says his goal for me is to reach 200. I am pretty tall and big boned, so I think even 200 would look good on me. I do need to update my photos on profile. I will have to do that soon. Anyway, nice to meet all of you! And I look forward to getting a lot of great information here. Thanks!
LaRae
Hi and welcome. 83lbs is nothing to sneeze at. Thats great! And don't make it your last time posting. We have the same date, so I guess we are twins. Plus I have a set of twins. They are 35 now so they aren't babies. I have lost 65 lbs since surgery and read my post for today I have lost 101 since starting to retake my life back.
Hi!
I'm about 7.5 months post op and I had a similar situation when I was brand new. I actually had a weird taste in my mouth a lot of the time, which is what changed the taste of food. Its gone now, but every once in awhile, it comes back.
Your problem w/ sweetness...similar deal. I could NOT drink crystal light, which I loved before. I just got brave enough to try it again a couple of weeks ago, and it all went down fine. I've been drinking sugar free kool aid, too.
I say, give it time. Things change.
