It's been a full four months for me, my surgery was December 2nd! Height: 5' 6" Stats: Starting weight: 288 Weight today: 212 Lost:76 pounds I go back to the doctor on Thursday for a checkup, my only complaints are acid reflux, and the weight loss has slowed down so much. I had hoped I would be at the ONEderland by now.

Did anyone have the LapBand rather than RNY? I ask because my Lapband Surgery was 12/07/05 and I have lost ... not much. 25 pounds. Body is changing and pants fit differently but NOTHING like what you guys have done!!!!!

I had RNY but at my first preop visit they went over both and said that lap band is a lot slower but at 5 years the loss is equal.....so it will probl just take you longer.....and you'll get there without hair loss and smelly farts. Blessings, Jody

Take heart my dear Wendy - I had lapband on 12/29/05 and have lost 25 pounds as well. We aren't supposed to lose as fast as those RNY folks! Inches are a bigger thing for me though. And, I don't think I will have to worry about a lot of loose skin. I think the slower loss is giving my skin time to "bounce back". I know it's frustrating when we can "taste" thinness but we'll get there! It took me 25 years to get to 217 pounds, I can't expect to get back to 135 in 3 months. Hang in there!!! My surgery date 12/14/05 Pre-op weight - 284 current weight - 220 5'4" total loss so far 64. I have gone from a 24W to a 16W. This is awesome. People I haven't seen in awhile don't recognize me. Does anyone have problems with immediate family members (like mom, sisters, aunts) not acknowledging your weight loss? It gets frustrating. I know I did this for myself but it still feels good to get compliments.

Only another 62.5 lbs to go! I've dropped from a (very, very) tight size 24 down to a Walmart 18 misses. It was very exciting! And I bought a size Large sweater from H&M!
