Protein question
Dear Melissa,
I had my surgery the same day as you and I am doing well in the protein dept and have not lost any hair either. Also, I have a lot of energy and have all along. I attribute it to the fact that I never used the protein drinks! I never could stand them and my WLS program people said I didn't have to drink them as long as I eat mostly protein. So, I usually have protein first at every meal and protein for snacks. I eat oatmeal made with milk for breakfast, cheese and beef jerky for snacks, yogurt, sliced deli turkey, proten bread that I get from Trader Joe's, meat and veggies for dinner. I try to eat as "normal" as I can. If you take your time and chew, chew, chew, there is plenty of protein in a 3 oz piece of pork, beef or poultry and it is high quality protein that your body absorbs. At this stage, most of us should be able to eat regular food as long as we eat it slowly and chew well. Good luck!

Hi Melissa,
I use Unjury unflavored in my Danon FitnLite yogurt. Delicious.
Also use vanilla ProComplex in orange sunrise crystal lite - tastes like an orange julius. Yummy
Chicken is still difficult. Tuna, ground meats, lo-fat cheese and cottage cheese, lo-fat turkey lunch meat, shrimp and egg beaters are good sources. I also love most of the protein bars and shakes - just lucky I guess.
Good luck!
