I am not having a problem with food at all. I guess because I chew and chew and chew. But I can not take pills. I am biting them into thirds. They are getting hung and boy do they hurt and make me feel like crap. I try to get liquid meds when ever I can. I have tried to let them melt in water. I did that until I was about ready to gag from that. The ones I am having the trouble with now is the Allerga 180. The pollen here is murder but than again so are these pills.

Can you crush the pills and mix in something to slide down? My doctor suggested applesauce.....

I had lap RNY on 12/16/05 and I was told that I was not to swallow any pills until at least six months out. I have a pill crusher and it works great. You can get them at any pharmacy. You put in the pill and turn the cap of the crusher and it crushes the pills. Then, I just put it on my tongue and drink some Crystal Light to wa**** down. I do that for all pills. Some pills, however, like time-released meds, are not crushable. Hope this helps.

I consider myself fortunate... I have been taking pills for at least a month now... and I can pretty much take anything... I drink LOTS of water with each one... helps me to get in my water... we were told at about 2 months we should be able to take pills...I would try the applesauce... I would put a little in a medicine cup, put in the pill, and add some more applesauce, and it would melt, and then I would just take it with a spoon...I was doing that.. but I was having a horrible time with tylenol... that stuff is sooooo bitter, even the liquid... so something had to give.. and I just started swallowing pills.

I was on allegra too but soon realized that that wasn't gonna work anymore.. so my doctor told me to take Claritin.. FYI.. they have a dissolvable pill that tastes fine and works just as good in my book. It's over the counter too.. which is nice.

The doctor gave me a script for Claritin today. Thanks. Didn't know I could get it over the counter. I will look to see if it is the same
