I am confused/please help
Ok, so I had to put this update in. I am getting so frustrated at my weight loss. Yes, I know I should be greatful that I have had the chance to have surgery. Yes, I know I should be happy about the almost 80lbs I have lost. But, for some reason I am starting to gain a little back. What have I been doing, or not been doing you might ask?? The only thing different with my life here lately is that I have not been working out. Week before last, I did something to my back. So, I felt the best thing to do was to stay away from working out until I got things together with my back. I am not eating more calories, I am not taking in more carbs, sugars, or anything like that. I have been trying to make sure that I am getting in all my protein. I do know how important that is. But, other than this nothing has changed. Earlier last week, I was down to 278lbs. Then tonight I am back up to 281. What in the heck is going on? I have heard of people loosing weight and then putting it back on, but I never thought it would happen to me. I do not know what to do.

Sorry about your back and the weight gain. It is normal, though. Your are probably holding water around your injured muscles. I always gain a few pound when I hurt my back. It is your bodies way of trying to heal itself. Don't beat yourself up about it. The pounds will drop off again when you're feeling better.
Hugs,
Kim
Melissa,
I believe its water weight. I have gained as much as 3.5lbs. I went back up 2lbs after losing 7lbs earlier this week. I know I'm working out and watching what I eat. Then I realized what was going on when I couldn't remove my rings and my boots and socks are tight. Up your fluid intake and watch your sodium.
Hope this helps...

Melissa, We all go through ups and downs with our weight. I have. I would recommend that you try to walk a little. I have back problems too and walking stretches out the sore muscles and helps with spasms. It will also send a message to your metabolism to get in gear again. Remember, this whole process HAS to work as long as you are eating right and moving. I hope your back is better and you are losing again as you read this. Hang in there...NOONE ever said that this was easy. It is hard work as we all found out. BUT, very much worth it! sunny.
