Being a number cruncher for a living, I work on what percent of my weight loss have I accomplished in three months.. When I look at it that way, my 40-some pounds seem more inspiring. All of these suggestions are great. Use EVERY encouragment you can. Make golas other than the scale. I am taking pictures and measuring my chest, waist and hips. (I wish I had measured my legs and arms prior to surgery but I didn't).
Each day is another day to make the best choices, consume protein and water and move a bit more than the day before.
We are all winners.

Jennifer,
Man this must be the December Babies time to not lose weight.. I was in a stall for 2 weeks then I lost 3 lbs and guess what Im stalled yet again. Its so hard not to let your mind sneak over to the what ifs and feeling like a failure again. I even thought briefly about maybe trying to not eat and only drink for a few days.. then I remembered that if I do that the only thing it will do is make it harder to lose because my body will think its starving again. I am holding onto the fact that so many people have had this surgery and lost their weight so I will too I have to. So I guess its just time for us to stall. At least we are all doing it together and that makes it a bit easier.. Well for me anyway.

Hi Jennifer,
If you are taking in 1,100 cals, but getting only 60 gms of protein, it seems like there is too much "filler" in there in the form of carbs/fats. That can slow down the weight loss... Do you use supplements? Or do you take all your protein from food? Do you have a nutritionist?
My max calorie range is 700-800 for this post op stage.
Just thought I would offer my little piece of loss advice, so now that I've done that...
Good job on the 42 lbs!!!! It is so hard not to compare... I try and put horseblinders on nowadays.
My nut. suggested max of 800 calories also & 60-90 grams of protein. I had a stall last for a few weeks, I was stuck at 38lbs, then I refused to step on the scale, I was loosing inches bit - by -bit and one day I took my daughter to the doc and jumped on his scale and it was down 10lbs, I wasnt too excited because 'different scale' thing. But when i got home i was down 10!!!! It will happen to you too!
I know exactly how you feel. My highest weight was 416; day of surgery 393. I had my 3 month visit yesterday. I am down 44 since surgery. Very disappointing compared to the average WLS patient. It is 44 pounds that I wouldn't have lost with WLS, but when I hear the average at 3 months is 65 pounds, it is very depressing. I am sick of hearing about people dropping big numbers too. I try to focus on the positives, but some days it is very discouraging. It's like I am constantly fighting against the current all the time to get upstream. Nice to know I am not the only slow loser out there who feels this way.
Huggs,
Ruth
