1) Eaten chips? I have eaten some Tortilla chips, but my most common food in this area is crackers.
2) Tried soda? Nope....... can't imagine how full THAT would make me
3) Tried something with sugar? No, I am diabetic so this was a continuation of my pre-surgery habits anyway.
4) Eaten Popcorn? No, just haven't been anywhere it was the snack.
5) Chewed Gum? No, but I have sure thought about it with the bad taste in my mouth.
6) Skipped a meal? No, just small meals. Hey, I am not fat for no reason!
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? I still haven't gotten into a routine of exercise. Where is this energy burst?????
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? No.....I eat crackers often with tuna or cheese so it has been half and half at times.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? Yes, one glass of red wine once. (Two hours to sip that six ounces).
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yes, often. I choose a dish with mostly pure protein. Lots of appetizer 'meals' and doggie bags. It is so economical to have lunch already made the next couple of days! Hubby loves the leftovers too.
I am down 45 pounds at three months. (Started at 240, 5'4"). I was told by the surgeon and nutrionist not to worry about carbs and calorie count early on, but I wonder now if I should begin to be more concerned by the choices. I eat alot of protein from protein bars and drinks so that is the source of most of my calories.

In spite a little cheating here and there, I am not mad at myself. I've lost 67 lbs doing something right. From time to time I think about what if the weightloss stops but I know that its not. But, if I don't lose another pound, I thank God for allowing me to have this surgery. I am more happier and healthier than I have ever been before at 27 years old. I know that I will never see the 300s again...

I am still worried that the weight will come back. I have a friend who had wls 4 yrs ago and after losing 125 has since gained it all back. I am really trying to work on my head now and let the body take care of itself during this honeymoon phase.by the way, I am convinced that my friend gained it back by drinking soda, eating and drinking at the same time and snacking all the time. I really don't want to be one of the ones that goes through all of this to circle back to the same starting place!
Hi Becky, this is a fun post - thanks for getting it started.
I can summarize: no to # 1-8 but that doesn't mean I won't!
#9) I was a major red wine drinker before surgery. I drank wine for the first time post-surgery at 8 weeks; was amazed at how little I could drink before it really had an effect. I now limit it to one glass of red wine twice week. It's a great treat. Haven't had any trouble with it.
#10) We eat out all the time. I have found that I can generally find something on the menu no matter where we eat. Often my husband and I share - it keeps him from eating the whole plate full of food, and it's so much cheaper!
My fear continues to be that this won't work either, just like the thousands of previous attempts. When I hit 50 lbs, though, I think I finally became a believer. That was a big milestone for me. And I shopped for new clothes this week for the first time post-surgery - found I got to shop in the regular clothes section, not women's!!!! That was a huge step.
Thanks to all of you December-ites who help to keep me going!
Lisa
