Getting Honest~
Hey there December friends. I was just reading the main message board and it led me to wonder have you __________???
1) Eaten chips?
2) Tried soda?
3) Tried something with sugar?
4) Eaten Popcorn?
5) Chewed Gum?
6) Skipped a meal?
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight?
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal?
9) Had an alcoholic beverage?
10) Eaten out at a restaurant?
Here are my answers:
1) Eaten chips? I have eaten chips several times, but only 2-5 at a time.
2) Tried soda? I have sipped it, but it doesn't sit well or really even taste good.
3) Tried something with sugar? NO WAY!! I am a humungo chicken to do this and I don't even crave it. I had a serious DUMP from meds and I am SUPER CHICKEN to eat sugar.
4) Eaten Popcorn? Yep
5) Chewed Gum? Yep, and I even SWALLOWED it accidentaly. I about FREAKED because I hear it can cause awful complications. But, I was fine.
6) Skipped a meal? Yes, I am notorious for skipping breakfast. In the mornings my pouchie is always kinda yucky feeling.
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? Sadly, yes. I still struggle with excersizing like I should. But, I am getting better.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? Yes, at least I think so. I have trouble getting all my protein in.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? Nah
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yep, I have eaten a taco, and LOTS of salads.
Despite all of these things that can be considered downfalls, I DON'T feel like I am failing. But, as I read people on the main boards I get a little scared. What about the rest of ya'll? Do you feel worried about anything?

1) Eaten chips? 1 or 2 Prinkles. I suck them until they are mush. Really don't think its about the chips but the SALT that I am after. The can is going stale and I don't think I will replace it
2) Tried soda? Nope but after everyone told me I could drink things cold I am drinking decafe tea. I brew one black tea bag and one green tea bag. It doesn't taste as good as the caffine kind but it will work. I use two sweetners.
3) Tried something with sugar? H@##LL to da Naw tooo SKARED
4) Eaten Popcorn? I haven't wanted any and I used to eat a whole bag 2 to 3 times a week
5) Chewed Gum? No I wasn't a gum chewer
6) Skipped a meal? I did at the start. Too sick. Sometimes if I am really busy I still skip but I try not to do it too ofter. Sometimes I am just too full from dense food so I sip sip sip
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? Whats that?????
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? I try to eat all protein then other stuff every now and then
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? I never drank
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yes and I don't ask for the WLS discount. I figure they didn't make me gain weight so I just let it go. I bring stuff home it sits if the fridge until trash day. Don't know why I keep bringing it home
I don't think I am failing either because I know the damage I can do! I am still dealing with the boil issue and can't understand why I can't heal. I went into a two week stall because the medicine they had me on had SUGAR in it. Yesterday at the doctors the scale finally moved so I guess you really can't call it a stall. When I first went in for the boil I was 237. Yesterday I was 230. YEEEEEEYYYYYY hhhhaaaaa thats TEXAN YALL
The next problem.....I keep going to my closet and I have FINALLY gotten good about giving away my too large clothes. Now the
empreor has no clothes
Ok-I'll try to be honest here.
1) Eaten chips? -- YES!!!! And I enjoyed them immensly-but they were the no fat 1/2 calorie ones from Lays and they were GOOD!
2) Tried soda?--No
3) Tried something with sugar?--No-at least not more than a little sugar. too afraid.
4) Eaten Popcorn?--Yes, at the movies with DGD-made me feel a little yucky.
5) Chewed Gum?--No, I'm not a gum chewer.
6) Skipped a meal?--No, I've tried to at least have a protein shake. I'm really missing those snacks though-My Dr. said "3 meals, no snacks" and it's getting harder and harder to listen.
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? --No, I've tried really hard to exercise at least 5 days a week.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal?--No, well when I first went off clear liquids-I once had tomato soup and saltines-but it was ok according to the Dr.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage?-No, I don't drink. I've seen too much heartache from this stuff to be even tempted.
10) Eaten out at a restaurant?--Sure, lots of times. I just make sure I have my protein and keep it light-if the meal is too big-I just take most of it home with me.
I gotta say, I do not feel the least bit guilty for most of these-I'm still living my life and intend to continue to do so. Blessings to all Dec. babies.
If these are the rules, then I guess I have broken them all...but I do not feel that doing these things makes me a failure. I am losing my weight and it is so much easier to eat less and not be starved all the time like when I have been on diets in the past. So here are my answers:
1) Eaten chips? A few tortilla chips at a time.
2) Tried soda? No.
3) Tried something with sugar? I use sugar in my coffee and I have had some desserts. I don't think I dump, but I am able to eat just a little and then stop. I don't really crave sweets that much.
4) Eaten Popcorn? Yes, but a lot less than before and always low fat.
5) Chewed Gum? No; I rarely did before surgery.
6) Skipped a meal? No. I like to eat too much!
7) Not exercised for a whole week straight? At the beginning I didn't exercise much. I still struggle every time it is time for my walk.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? I usually have something with protein at every meal even if just a cup of warm milk with espresso coffee at breakfast.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? Not yet.
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yes. It was fun! But I couldn't eat much.One time I didn't order my own food and just took a few bites of my husband and daughter's foods and it was enough for me. We are saving money!

4) Eaten Popcorn? ... I've been warned it's the "fruit of the devil" from the veteran posse so I stay away from it.
5) Chewed Gum? ...I am a professional.. hence, I swear do promise that I have never swallowed gum in my life's entirety thus far.. AMEN!! So yeah.. this is the one rule that I do break consistently based on mere reason and the fact that I have stock in Trident.
6) Skipped a meal? ...only in the beginning.. when sitting down for a 2oz. meal equipped with only a pouch the size of a pea.. was utter hell.
7) Not exercised for a whole week straight? ... I have a wedding in July.. I don't have the luxury to even entertain such a thought.. I'm just jealous of folks who can do this.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? ...If I don't eat protein at least every 3 hours.. my blood-sugar level drops and I become demonic.. so umm.. I can't do that..
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? ...Waiting till my honeymoon in August to try it.
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? ...Several times.. it's a real treat. But.. I'll only go to really good restaurants now because I can't chance that my few bites of dinner won't be worth the chew. For safety purposes.. I always get the same thing.. I turn a grilled chicken breast sandwich with fries into a grilled chicken filet toppled with mushrooms and swiss over steamed veggies. Highly recommend it!!

1) Eaten chips? Yep, I have to keep them out of the house...they tend to get the better of me.,,,,especially ranch flavored pretzel peices, made my fiance take them to work, I couldn't quit eating them.
2) Tried soda? Yep, my surgeon allows us to have flat soda as long as we don't count it as water intake. I think I've maybe had one diet coke...I was never a big soda drinker
3) Tried something with sugar? Not over 5 grams!
4) Eaten Popcorn? Yeah, it's very good, but I have to just walk away from it...tooooo yummy!
5) Chewed Gum? No, scared of getting it stuck
6) Skipped a meal? too often, now I carry protien bars with me at all times
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? I don't believe so...I go shopping with my sister at least twice a week, so I walk a lot. And I have a two year old...nuff said!
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? for a meal, no....for a naughty snack.....yes
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? Also waiting for my honeymoon! (July16-23 in Las Vegas!!!!)
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Constantly...my favorite is a Chinese buffet right by my house...they have crab legs on the weekend!

3) Tried something with sugar? Yes yet again I learn from experience and the experience Ive had lets me know that I DO NOT want to do it again.

5) Chewed Gum?Yes, Ive chewed but didnt swallow (heehee)
6) Skipped a meal? Yes more than I should I get busy and just forget.
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? In the beginning I would skip exersize. but I trully love to do it now so I don't skip.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? Hmm I eat carbs but I also get my protein through my shakes.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? No never could drink before surgery so Im not a drinker now.
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yes Ive tried, But I get frusterated so I choose not to go.

Happy 3 month anniversary to the December babies...
1) Eaten chips? Yes, I've chewed a couple of Tortilla chips at Mexican restaurant.
2) Tried soda? No, desire
3) Tried something with sugar? Yes, a girl scout cookie at work the other day. I had my first dumping episode. I was sick and was foaming at the mouth.
4) Eaten Popcorn? Guilty, I ate a whole small bag of popcorn at the movies with butter. I didn't realize I had eaten it all until my son asked for some.
5) Chewed Gum? Yes and swallowed. I didn't think about it.
6) Skipped a meal? Yeah, but I forced down a protein shake.
7) Not exercized for a whole week straight? Not yet.
8) Eaten your carbs and no protein for a meal? Yes, I'm removing wheat thins and Bagel chips from my house. I can eat them by the handfuls with no problem. I'm amazed at how well they go down. I know I had the surgery but sometimes I can consume massive quantities without feeling full.
9) Had an alcoholic beverage? No
10) Eaten out at a restaurant? Yes, I went to Noodles yesterday. I explain that I will need a takeout bowl right away. She gave me shrimp and chicken with my pasta at no charge. I have enough leftover for 3 meals. I find restaurant eating to be a treat but I eat a few bites and then I'm done. I've noticed that once I mention having the surgery people are very helpful. It's better than having them hover over me asking me what's wrong.
