pouch not stretched

I am sure all of us have wondered at one point have I stretched my pouch. The elders keep telling us don't worry it does not stretch over night. When we move into denser foods we will find out. Today for dinner we are having mac & cheese with bar b que country ribs. I don't think I had a good 3 ozs on my plate. Didn't want to dump. I scraped the sauce off the ribs and what was left was really good. I know the sauce has sugar. The mac & cheese, there must have been about 10 small macaroni on my plate. The rib I don't even think was an whole ounce. I ate slower than I usually do. Waiting to see if I felt funny with each bite. My twins when they were toddlers ate more than what was on my plate. I was full. Didn't want and couldn't if I did, seconds. So I am not so worried about my pouch any more. I always feel since I drink so much I could also eat too much. With the lighter foods I can. With this denseness no way. Just have to keep an eye out for the calories UGH!

I know what you mean Patty. I can't eat over 2 ounces at a time yet. I can drink a 16 oz glass of milk, but it takes me a while! The longer it takes for my pouch to stretch, the longer all these new habits have to sink in is my take on it! Diona

Good for you! I think that you are doing great, I myself just posted on the main board that I really thought t my pouch was stretched. Yesterday I scarffed down a WHOLE hotdog with a bun none the less!!! Without even thinking, I just ate and not until almost the last bite did I start to feel sick. Then of course the mental anguish of the situation kicked in Ugh! I usually can not eat that much. Never befor had I tried. It was also the first hotdog and last since my surgery. It was not a healthy decision. I do think that measuring is a good idea at least for me, one of the main culprits of my obesity was no moderation what-so ever. I don't try sugars but am bad about carbs. I guess its just the decisions that we make. I wonder if different doctors make the pouches different sizes? Mine just seems to be able to hold more. I need to be carfull. Keep up the good work! keri

I really don't measure my food. I just sight check it. I know if I put more on my plate I will want that last bite. So I don't! Also I really eat way too fast for me. I am at about 10 minutes to eat a meal. I thought I wouldn't be that fast until at least 6 months out. I ate that one so slow because it was the first time for both. I was afraid of dumping! Thats why I ate RIGHT

My surgeon and nutritionalis both say if we sretch our pouch it will not go back. They say the 3-4 oz. portion is for life. That's reason enough for me to still be using the 1 ounce medicine cups to measure my food. I am afraid to push my luck. I want to continue being full with only eating a little bit.
