ICE COLD DRINKS

I posted this question on the Q&A. Just want to know how YALL feel. Before WLS I made a pitcher of tea nearly every day. I dranked it ice cold all day. I was told nothing cold because it would hurt your pouch. I have tried drinking it at room temperture and I hate it. Don't care for hot tea. I would sip one cup of hot when I first brew it. Then it was iced down all day long. Is any one drinking any thing ice cold? What? How often? How much? Did it hurt? Does it hurt? Thanks

I drin****d water or iced tea all day long and into the evening. Everything I drink is full of ice. It never hurt anything. In fact, I've never heard of not being able to drin****d drinks. Kim

I was not told to stay away from cold or Ice cold drinks. I drin**** cold water all the time, in fact I just re-filled my glass. Actually, I take that back, I was told if I had a gas problem, to stay away from cold liquids, but just if I had gas problems. It doesn't hurt.

Everything I drink I put ice in, which is weird because I never did that pre-op. Now it seems like I have to have ice in EVERYTHING! I put ice in water, tea, milk and my protein shakes! It tastes so refreshing that way and the cold has never hurt me one bit...

Petty, The only time I couldn't drink things ice cold was probably the first two weeks after surgery and then the pouch just wouldn't tolerate it. Now most of the time I have ice and even better if it is fine so I can chomp on it. Sherr

I drin**** water all the time with no problems. My doctor never said anything about avoiding it. In fact, the first thing I drank in the hospital after my leakage test was ice water.

My surgery was 3 days before yours and I have been drinking cold things since the beginning. However, my adult daughter had it one lmonth before me in another state, and cold things hurt her stomach for about 6 wks, but we are way further out than that now. Good luck. I Miss Diet Pop... is the reason that carvbonation distends our pouch or what? I just do not drink it because I was told not to by the nutritionalist.

I'm not too crazy about icy drinks so it isn't a problem for me, but my program allows SF popcycles so I don't think that would be alot different than iced tea. Corrine

I drink mostly cold drinks. In the very beginning, under two weeks, I couldn't drink as much if it was really cold. Now it is fine. HAVE AT IT!! Vicky
