Hey everyone
Hey everyone I have not posted in a while, just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing well. Having some problems with my weight not wanting to get off me. It seems like I stall a lot, and then when the weight does decided to come off again its only one or two pounds. I guess in all, I should not be discouraged, I am down 62lbs since surgery and 91lbs since October.
I was also wondering since I know there are people of all different pre-op on here, how many calories a day is everyone getting.
I have used fitday.com and the most I have gotten was almost 700 in one day. I honestly think that is too many, but on the brighter side, its way less than what I use to get in one day. So, any one that would like to share I would love to read.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, and an even better week.
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
I had my surgery on 12/29/06 and just went in for my 2 month check up. I had been averaging 650 calories per day. My nut told me that they would like to see me getting 800-1000 per day. I had to laugh, I have never had a doctors appointment where I was told that I was exercising great, I need to add a little more fat to my diet (they want me to try to get a minimum of 21grams/day) and that I need to eat more calories! What a difference 2 months can make. I am down only 40 pounds but more importantly I have lost 30% of my excess weight to get to my goal, so I like to go by that number. I think the "I lost this many pounds" can be frustrating when we compare ourselves to others. I really don't think that I can get in this many calories yet. I may shoot to just slowly work into 700. Hope this helps!

My date was one day after yours and I am down 32lbs. I know I am a lightweight, so I may lose slower, but the key is to stay healthy! I am thrilled at the 4lbs a week weight loss. I have never been able to do that on any other "diet"! I honestly dont count calories. I eat mostly protein (fish, tuna, etc...) and fluids as much as I can. I dont really have room for much else like junk food or carbs. I am taking it one goal at a time to make my new habits a lifelong one!
