Hi!
I'm eating just about anything except scrambled eggs..boiled eggs go down ok, but make me a little nausous. I don't understand that.
I'm eating lots of chicken tenders, broccli and other grilled veggies that I cook on the Foreman Grill with just a tad of olive oil. I eat boiled chicken too.. I eat grilled fish and shrimp...and I've even ate steak. Of course the most tender kind all the fat trimmed off knowing that the tender steaks have lot's of marbling of fat.
I stay away from bread except occasionally I get an urge for some french onion soup with a thin slice of whole gain bread, toasted and some Moz. cheese on top..YUMMY. Also, 1/2 the fat townhouse crackers with some smooth peanut butter is a treat I have not very often.
I always try to get some fruit down, usually 1/2 a banana or 1/2 an apple or a little fruit juice if I don't have the fresh.
I eat no granulated sugar at all. I don't know if it will make me dum*****t and will continue to make my self believe that it will. It took a while, but I'm ok with that now..not eating cake, honeybuns etc..the very things that got me into trouble in the first place..I am satisfied with the Viactive carmel calcium chew I take every day which is sweet and delicious..As far as vitimans go, I also take two Flintstone chewables and three iron pills every day..oh, and a b-12 sublingual daily.
I watch what I eat with the Fitday.com website and I'm staying around 800 calories. I could easily go over that because the quanity I can eat is amazing. I avg about 90g of protein in my diet so I don't do the protein shakes anymore..Yukky ole stuff. Gags me! I never did finish drinking one before it got warm and nasty lookin..Shoooo..I don't want to think of those things...
I started out at 248lbs at my preops a week before my surgery on Dec 30th, 2005 but I was up to 257 at one time..Now I weigh 205!!!
My stomach is drooping, but every thing else is snapping back into place ok..I worry about the droopy stomach!
I am living off of yogurt, mozz cheese sticks, and watermelon. Still drinking protein shakes and taking vitamins, but food doesn't agree with me at all! I can have fat free refried beans every once in awhile if my pouch is in a good mood. Meat? Forget about it... not happening. Oh, last night I tried almonds and they chew down great, but my jaw gets sore!
I"m eating well. The only thing-besides sugar and fat-that I can't eat is dense meat-like Chicken breast or steak. Shrimp, talipia, Wendy's chili, yogurt, and yes my protein shakes are my new favorites. At my last checkup-I asked if I could have salad-and she said "YES: so I've been enjoying that lately too. Cheese is my friend, weather it be a cheese stick or my latest newbie-feta on portabella mushroom. -The other day we tried making Lasagne-and we made it with sliced zuchinni instead of noodles-it was YUMMY! As for fruit-I make my protein shake for breakfast every morning with 5 or 6 frozen strawberries-and some ice-makes a great "almost" milk shake-YUM. I will say, that eating slowly and actually enjoying it-rather than just shoving it in-like I used to is a nice change. Hard to get used to, but a nice change none the less.
It depends on the day. Some days I do not eat at all. Some days it is just 32 oz of Dean's Easy fat free milk and s/f Nestle's Quik and 1 scoop of protein powder. Everything else is s/f liquids.
Some days feel like I can eat anything I want. Today was one of those days. I started out with my milk and protein. For breakfast I had a whole packet of microwavable oatmeal, 2 8oz glasses of apple juice and 16 oz of green tea.
Lunch was 6 oz of Chunky New England Clam Chowder, 6 Ritz crackers.
Dinner is Ribeye steak, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach.
I am sure that for the next 3 to 4 days I will not eat much at all. I want to eat and can eat in spurts. I am still learning about my new body. Some days I hate it and other days I love it.
I won't complient too much I am down 57.5 lbs so far and I went from a tight 26-28 to a normal fitting 24. Not bad for 2 months out.

I'm having a tough time eating too...I'm right at 8 weeks out (as of yesterday). I mostly eat fish, shrimp, crab salad and last week I tried a green salad and it agreed with me. I've been experiencing nausea much more than usual this past week. I am able to drink lots of water, which I drink every chance I get. I am, however, getting a little tired of the same foods, but grateful to be down 40 pounds in 2 months - so I will not complain. At any rate, best wishes and congratulations on your weight loss.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I am at 9 weeks today and down 55 pounds. I eat pretty sparingly still . . . tuna, cottage, cheese, slices of colby w/ reduced fat wheat thins, and milk. I just can't get enough milk lately, and with 9 protein a glass I go for it. The only things (besides, sugar and fat) I have been okay to eat yet is fresh raw veggies. My newest craving is 1/2 a pink lady apple. Hope this helps, keep up the good work.
It's really interesting to me how all over the place we are..!! My nutritionist tells me that I need at least 110 grams of protein a day.. (she bases it on height.. I am 5'10").. I get in three protein shakes a day. It's actually ok because I like this protein shake! Also, of course I take my iron, vitamins, B12 and multivitamin!! Looks like a lot of us like fish.. that's interesting.. it sits well for us! Everyone keep up the good work!! Dee
I am 9 1/2 weeks out and down 40 pounds. My favorite protein is grilled fish and shrimp. I actually crave fish. There must be something in it my body needs. I use Nectar protein most days and I usually have a power crunch bar each day. I also like the protein chips by Better Balance, chili nacho cheese flavor. Green salads do not agree with me. I can eat them, but I feel yuck afterwards. Tomato soup is my new feel good food. I enjoy strawberries and melons as well. Everything else (except sugar, which I haven't tried) seems to go down fine.
Hi
I'll be 10 weeks out on Friday and am down 56 pounds I can eat just about anything I want. I love shrimp and just about any seafood except for fish. I can do well with just about any type of meat but from time to time I forget to chew and it gets stuck. I also enjoy crisp, green salads, soups, chicken salad and chili. There are some days that I stay hungry and other days that I don't feel like eating. I am better with the water, I can drink more than I used to and also the protein.
Congratulations to everyone!
