Your head VS. Your Body...lol
Well ladies (and a few gentlemen), I've done it. I officially cleaned out my closet yesterday. I've lost 50lbs since surgery and a grand total of 55 lbs. What started it all was this...... On Sunday I went to church, same as always, in my favorite black shirt and khaki pants (we go to comtempory service). The pants were ones I hadn't been able to wear in a while but the shirt was my nice, favorite shirt. During greeting everyone came up to me, hugged me, and told me that I looked really good and kept commenting on how smaller I looked.... After service, four of my friends came up to me to talk. One of my friends said "I'm sorry, sweetie, but that shirt is waaayyy to big and it's gotta go!" Of course, I'm stuck in denial. No way.... i'm not small enough to get rid of old faithful......lol. She actually has to pull on my shirt to show me that I've got about 10 inches of extra material. Yesterday, I actually went through my closet and got rid of my 5X stuff and most of my 4X stuff and now my closet is full of 26/28's. While I was sorting it, I kept having to try stuff on because my HEAD kept saying, "NO way that you are small enough for this yet!"......lol. Some items were snug, but others weren't......lol. This has been such a nice feeling.......lol. I hope this made you smile!
Best Wishes!

Congratulations, Carol! You are now on your way... And it's true that it takes our brains a little while to catch up with our bodies. For me, after looking in the mirror and being disgusted for so many years, it's really taking some strong self-talk to change my thinking as I lose weight.
Keep on going, and remember to love yourself!
Good luck,

I understand what you mean exactly. I'm staring in the mirror hard because it's giving me the movitation I need to keep going to the gym (I"m going to Curves). I need it cause I hate exercise, but I hope I can minimize the extra skin effect (it's already starting to show up). Anyway, the best of wishes to you!
Is that not the best feeling ever????? I to did the same thing the last few days. People were telling me I looked like a little kid in my dads clothes. Congrats on your weight loss. BIG SMILES TO YOU!!!!!! I had surgery Dec 12th and bought a scale tonight. 71 lbs gone. Is that even possible? yep it is. Good job and keep it going..
TTFN (ta ta for now)

Thank you ladies! I'm so psyched! I divided up clothes into my two (small) closets (Hubby is military so he gets the big one.....lol). I have the " I can wear now closet" and the "I can wear in 10-20 lbs" closet. And storage bins above with smaller sizes. Well, this morning I saw an old favorite shirt of mine the second closet and tried it on. IT FIT! OMG! I haven't been able to wear this shirt in over 4 years! I can wear WAL MART now! I've been living off of catalog clothes for so long now! I'm so thrilled with all of this! I just had to share!
Best Wishes!

Carol,
It is an awsome feeling, I have clothes that I haven't been able to wear in many many years. There are some that I even missed out on because I thought "no way those will fit yet" and then they were too small. I have also enjoyed "shopping" in friends and family's closets. I did have to give many things away though so that I had room for the new things. Good thing we are all horders so that I don't have to buy all new clothes. However; I am not going to hoard those large sizes, with God's will I will not ever need them again.
Congratulations on your loss.
