What has been your Biggest WOW moment?
We all know that this journey has been difficult (more so for some than others) and it is easy to get down on yourself for not losing, not being able to eat...etc. We forget the reasons we wanted to do this surgery in the first place, so I'm asking everyone " What is your biggest WOW moment so far and how did it make you feel?
Okay here's mine: I am sitting here in front of the computer in REAL jeans! No elastic waists or spandex... I didn't have to pour myself in them or lie down so I could zip them (I hate tight clothing!) or even wear a girdle or shaper underneath. They are a size 26 Venzia jeans from Lane Bryant! I was in a 30/32 before my surgery so I'm soooo happy. I went shopping at Lane Bryant this weekend (DH's treat) and I actually fit into a 22/24 top! I probably won't wear it until it's a little more loose (see a pattern here?....lol) but my point is that I haven't been in a size 22/24 top since I was in college.....Yeah...... It's going to be funny having a better body at 28 than I did at 18........
Best of wishes everyone! I hope this makes you smile
Read my wow posted Jan 31,06. It is going to be really hard to top that one for me. Today I am wearing my favorite blue suit for the last time. Really don't need it on today its too big. But it is the best thing I have to wear to say good bye to a dear old friend. I am talking about a friend services today not the suit. ha hah hah
2 months post op yesterday and down 49.2 lbs, now I can fit behind the steering wheel without 1/2 my abdomen sticking through the other side of the wheel. Also I recently had refried beans and salsa at my favorite restaurant.($ 2.75 for 4 meals...boy am I a cheap date.)
ANY WAY, I FIT BEHIND THE BOOTH WITHOUT MY STOMACH HITTING THE TABLE. I had long since given up booths there and had sat in a different area with tables and chairs for years. That is a good feeling.
ALSO, THE WEIGHT ON MY DRIVERS LICENSE WAS 40 LBS TOO LIGHT AND NOW I WEIGH LESS THAN MY LICENSE SAYS!!!
I found out that I actually had knuckles and knees! Silly, huh? But I can't get over the fact that they are really there. I can also cross my legs, haven't done that in so many years....I am finding places on my body that I didn't know exsisted! This is a wonderful journey and I am so glad I am on it. Also, my shoes are getting too big! This is only after losing 40 pounds...I have to clean out my closet every week..I hope I can keep up with my wardrobe....
Hugs,
Betsy
Congratulations,
Let me just say this, Lane Bryant sizes aren't always true. I used to wear a 26 jeans there and could fit 22/24 at other stores. I bought a size 22 slacks from there 10 days ago. I'm now able to fit in size 18W designer pants at other stores. The LB pants aren't too big.
I must admit that I have been crying in dressing rooms all over the city.
I was shopping the clearance racks last week and this lady told me how nice it must be to be so tall and proportionate. I could've her! Check out my new photo in my profile.
I have been working out with a physical therapist at my hospital's sports medicine clinic. This is especially important with my bad knees and weak core section. I've purchased a balance ball have been working it. The weight is now at a plateau. I just know that I'm building muscle.
Again, congratulations and good health!
