Hi everyone! I'm new to this board..
1) How much have you lost? 39lbs
2) What are you doing for excercise? Walking, but not enough..I have feet problems. Even fatter, I have no meat on them..they get so calloused that I have to have them shaved periodically..HA
3) What foods are working well for you? My trusty Cottage Cheese..Loaded with protein and I can eat a lot of it.
4) What are you having problems with? scrambled eggs..they come right back up. I was told to prime the pouch with some milk and they should stay down, but I don't want to try just yet. YUK
5) Any tips you might have that will help us? Well..I was down and depressed for a few weeks after my surgery and my husband treated me with a make over..new hair cut, highlights, nails done and a new outfit, and make up and I feel wonderful..snapped me right out of that funk.
1. I've lost 25 lbs. since surgery. Seems low to me, but I just keep reminding myself that there's no way I could have lost 25 lbs. before...
2. Walking, treadmill and elliptical trainer, light weightlifting. I'm not consistent, though... Some days, I have absolutely no energy! But this seems to be subsiding now.
3. Tuna, yogurt, oatmeal, shredded chicken, soups, 100% whole wheat Wheat Thins, fruits in my protein shakes, ground beef, all cheeses. I've had good luck trying new things--I just take very very small bites, chew well, and wait a minute or two between bites to make sure it will sit well. Water is going much better since I started using Crystal Light.
4. Reheated meat, all fish (gets stuck no matter what), anything made with white flour. Some days I have trouble with getting all my protein in because I just get sooo full!
5. Tip: Take your measurements! As slowly as the scale has moved for me, it helps to look at my measurements and see results when the numbers aren't moving.
1) How much have you lost? 40lbs from highest weight, 35.5 since surgery. I thought I was loosing too slow, but when was the last time I lost almost 40 pounds in 2 months?
2) What are you doing for excercise? Right now I am walking at least 1 mile, 4 days a week. It's time to step it up a notch.
3) What foods are working well for you? I eat 5 saltine crackers with every meal, split pea soup is good, salmon fillets, eggs, small amounts of dairy, lactose-free milk
4) What are you having problems with? bread and rice are not fun, neither is chicken or large shrimp. Basically everything I am NOT supposed to be eating according to my doctor's nutritional guide.
5) Any tips you might have that will help us? I like having a weekly eating/drinking routine to hammer in my new behavior of eating. I check off every meal that I've eaten, my vitamins, and the amount of protein and liquids. It's neat to see how if you miss a meal, your protein and water intakes will suffer.
