I am 8 weeks and 3 days post op. I have had to change clothing sizes. My uniform pants had gotten so baggy that I was feeling embarrassed and self conscious. I went down two sizes (or is it four sizes?) three weeks ago, and those are getting loose but will last me for a while. I went from a previously tight 30 to a loose 26. 1) How much have you lost? I have lost 42 pounds since surgery and 67 since I started the pre-op diet! 2) What are you doing for exercise? I was walking a mile on the treadmill 2 to 3 times a week on the weight loss incline program, but I bought myself a bicycle on 2-4-06 and am LOVING riding that. I have been riding a couple of times a day!! I ordered a meter to track mileage, speed, etc. It will be here next week, and then I can track how much exercise I am getting. 3) What foods are working well for you? Anything I have tried has been fine except chicken. Some of the notable things I have had are walnuts, pork rinds, chex mix, wheat crackers, turkey bacon sandwich (one slice of bread without the crust, one slice of turkey, precooked bacon 70 calories per 3 slices, and half a slice of cheese). I love sandwiches, and this was a real treat. I have eaten it twice. Oh, and I had pasta pretty much for the first time this week. Macaroni and cheese, I had it three times from the cafeteria while my DH was in the hospital. I just couldn't pass up the homemade mac and cheese. I had no problems with it. 4) What are you having problems with? Chicken has caused me to get sick twice. I had some pork tenderloin from the cafeteria while my DH was in the hospital this week, and it didn't sit well. I didn't vomit, but I felt icky for a while. Meat is not sitting well just yet. 5) Any tips you might have that will help us? Remember to eat slowly. The times I have gotten sick were mostly due to eating too fast. Also, it has helped me when I go out to eat to ask for a to go box right from the start. If I put some of my most favorite things in my box to take home, I don't feel so overwhelmed with the huge amount of delicious food sitting in front of me. That's all I can think of right now.

1. Lost 34 pounds -- thank you all since sometimes I'm just thrilled and others think too slow -- what am I , crazy. I couldn't lose 30 pounds in a year before!! 2. Treadmill, some weight machines, but just not often enough. 3. Cottage cheese is my standby, every day for breakfast. I'm lucky, I can eat a lot of variety, just need to remember to slow slow slow down and chew, chew chew,' 4. Strangely enough, salmon my old favorite, consistently is a bad food now. Taking a break. I like water, but need a drop of crystal light or lemon or something. Still experimenting with chewable vitamin brands. 5. Remember to be grateful for all this. Carol

Hi Everyone! 1. I've lost 60 pounds since my surgery--almost half of my excess weight. I've gone from a size 24 to a size 18 Hooray! 2. I go to the gym 4 - 5 times a week. I begin my routine by walking 1.5 miles (3.3 speed, 1.0 incline). Then, I hit the weight machines for about 30 - 45 minutes. I still hate going, but once I'm there, I love it! 3. I can eat almost anything. I haven't been to a fast food place since my surgery (except Subway or Quizno's), and I honestly don't miss having those hamburgers or chicken nuggets at all! I did find that anything with Nutrasweet makes me dizzy and lightheaded, so I stick with Splenda sweetened foods only. 4. I still have issues with anything pasta or rice related. It's just too gummy in my tummy. yuk! 5. The body will burn muscle before it burns fat, so be sure you're exercising and TONING those muscles! If you belong to a gym, utilize your personal trainer to get you on the right workout program. Regards, Charity
