Hi Becky,
Glad things are going well for you.
My Report:
1) So far 42 lbs. I have 78 more that I'd like gone --- yesterday. Oh well.
2) Walking. I aim for 60+ minutes 6 times a week.
3) I've used receipes from OH to make Chili and Taco soup that I love. Heavy on ground turkey and beans.
4) I discovered great sf fudgecicles. 35 cal, 2 g protein and I can't stop.
So, no more for me.
5) Try very hard to stay with your program guidelines. That's why I'm dropping the above food from my grocery list. It is very important to me to stay away from "trigger foods".

1. I just got weighed at my 6 week appt. and I am down 33.5 lbs since surgery on my docs scale.
2. I usually do my treadmill, but I have a virus that is just wiping out my entire routine. I hope to get back to my mile and a half 3x a week.
3. Refried beans, thin deli turkey, milk.
4. Getting in fluids, getting in protein, eating in general - I get full quick!
5. My nutritionist says that re-heating meat makes it harder to digest and makes the protein coagulate. This might explain some of my problems... hmmm....
Went for 6 week check-up and weight loss was disappointing. 16 pounds. I've been doing 2 pro-complex and one mini meal per day. 80 oz fluid and calcium, multi and iron. Makes me full just typing it. Doc says the transfusions sometimes make the system retain fluids but didn't give me a time frame. He said to cut shakes to 1 per day and cut fluids to 48-64. (I think he's as confused as I am) I'm hanging in there because I've gone from a 24 the day before surgery to an 18 I have to use a belt to hold up. It doesn't make sense but I have seen a few other cases with similar results.
DH and I work out at the gym 4-6 days per week.
Shrimp, thin turkey, cheese, zuchini, fit n lite yogurt. almost anything I've tried except chicken and fresh garlic. We don't do any refined carbs and DH is almost officially past his diabetes. Shows what diet and exercise might do for Diabetes. ( huge smile)
I'm having sciatic testing today (UGH!!!) and hope to be more mobile soon. I'd love to be doing the treadmill for more than 10 minutes at a time. Drinking too close before and after meals was a problem - That's my biggest challenge - ignoring the thirst for that hour or so.
Tips - I mixed my protein powder with yogurt and it stayed in the pouch a bit longer than mixed with water.
May we all be big losers.
