couple of good meals if eating out....
Found a couple of good meals for eating out :
Lunch - French onion soup at Panera : broth is very good, you may not want to eat the onions or croutons (although I eat the onions and a couple croutons).
Dinner - Tilapia baked in bag at Red Lobster -- I ate it with the small fork they give you with the lemon so I wouldn't eat too fast or take too big bites. It was delicious -- I left the al dente vegetables and didn't eat them, they weren't soft enough.
I am not familiar with Panera, but when a group I was with stopped at a fast food restraunt for lunch on the way to a meeting. I thought there couldn't possibly be anything I could eat. I packed some tunafish and crackers just in case (frozen bottle of water to keep it cold) in a insulated lunch bag. But there was a salad with grilled chicken that I ordered (first time to eat a salad since before my surgery). I tolerated it OK. I focused on eating the grilled chicken, but ate some of the salad too. Lisa
my surg was 12/9 lap rny. I can not eat salad until 4 months, and my daughter lives in another state and had her surgery Nov 7, and her Dr. told her no salad until 6 months. I have only been off purees since week 6. I eat canned chicken and light miracle whip and refried beans alot. My stomach just cannot tolerate eggs anymore. I have found that very lean ham chews easily and seems to work well for me. I carry a little cooler everywhere then I have my liquids and food I can have. I do like skim milk motzerella with 3 reduced fat wheat thin crackers..
Just shows that all Drs. are different-I was told by mine that it was time to start salads and fruit. I tried it on my way home from the Dr., stopping at a steakhouse and having the salad bar-YUM. It has helped with the constipation, YEA. I am taking my grandkids out to lunch today-and depending upon where they want to go, I'm just wondering what I can order. Hopefully, they won't want chinese-which was my favorite-but now, I don't know what to eat there.
