How much are you working out?
I just had my one month check up and my doctor told me that I needed to start working out at least 3 times a week and then increase to 4 times a week. I had been going out 2 times a week since the second week since surgery. The doc explained it as this. Your body will burn muscle BEFORE fat SO you MUST work out to rebuild the muscle so you don't lose muscle mass. But since you are losing weight and building muscle it has to take the weight from the fat.... Also if you work out you will lose for a longer period of time because you are building muscle, which requireds energy (i.e calories) to work so you raise how many calories a day you can eat without gaininng..... Sorry this probably is old news but I liked the way he described it to me.
Best Wishes To All!

My Doc is so worried about my bones he just wants me to move. My nut on the other hand got on me about my arms. Bat wings are moving in fast. I know I should but after reading so many post that the wings are coming no matter what it is kind of hard to get into it.
I dance around the house a lot. I know thats not good enough but I wasn't moving at all. The OLD Temptations get me moving
Today was the most exercise that I have had since my surgery. I went for a 1 1/2 hour walk that included going up and down stairs. I have always hated exercise and I do not think that I am going to start liking it any time soon.
I know that I would lose faster if I did exercise but I'm not complaining. I do not think that 41.0 lbs in 6 weeks is bad at all.

Hello,
I am going to the gym on average 6x per week. Our local hospitals wellness center in conjunction with my surgeons office have set up a program for post surgical patients to aid in losing weight while increasing physical fitness. I am currently doing a circuit weight program plus at least 30 minutes (usually treadmill or EFX) of cardio per workout. I have been doing this since 1/16. It feels so good to be doing something good for me!

Hi Deary! I have been exercising at least 5 times a week for 30 - 40 minutes. I am 5 weeks post op and I am down 36lbs since surgery and I think exercise has been a big part of that. I need to join a gym to work on weight training, but for now my gazelle, 5lbs weights, and dancing seem to be doing me just great.
7 wks post op, I have disabilities on both knees, 1 foot and both shoulders. ( Plus after losing about 43 lbs, I still am 125 lbs overweight, so my joints can'/t take much stress. ) I have been doing continuous water exercises for 30-45 minutes 3-4 times a week since about 3/1/2 wks post op. I really enjoy it although some days it is just a matter of discipline to go, but I am glad I did!
