Updates...Progress Reports...
Hi All
Ok, its time for some updates and progress reports. What's been going on now that you are 4, 5, 6 weeks post-op? What are your ups and downs? Have you learned anything new in the last few weeks that may be able to help someone else? Where are you at in your diets? Any challenges that you are facing?
As far as me, I am now 5 weeks post-op and I am now on regular foods. So far, I can tolerate everything that I have tried. I find myself eating a little more at a time but no more than 1/4 cup per meal. As of last Tuesday, I was down 40 lbs. I try to weigh myself once a week on the sameday so I will weigh tomorrow. I still find getting all my fluids and protein a challenge but its better than it was the first few weeks.

well in less than a month i'm down 46 lbs. i think i'm at a bit of a stall although i lost 2 lbs overnight, so maybe i'm outta it. i can eat almost everything except flour tortillas. i eat about 1/2 cup of food and liquids i can eat about 7 ounces. i've thrown up only 2 times. my clothes are falling off of me and getting compliments left and right. energy is skyrocketting. i just wanna try eating better. i've kinda cheated a bit but have told myself, i didn't go through all this pain and pay all this money for nothin'. so i think i'm gonna stick to protein shakes and good stuff(makes me feel better anyways).
god bless
I am just over 3 weeks out and so far went from 263 to 236...
I am drinking all my nutrients/calories right now by choice. Food does not seem to agree with me and my little pouchy can only hold 1 oz before I feel gut busting full and start to get nauseas.
Trying ALL day long gets me in about 350-400 cals, 30 oz of water, and 40-50g of protein. Man this is hard!!!!
I am glad you are doing so well! Send some of that food tolerations this way please!
I'm just at about 5 weeks and have lost around 25lbs total. I passed my stall a couple weeks ago and since then have lost about 6.5lbs. So I'm happy! I'm eating mainly things like soft egg, soup, crab, some fish and cheese, cheese and more cheese. I drink 4 oz. of protein shake in the a.m. but don't need more than that to meet my protein requirements. I'm getting the rest through food. I have problems on occasion when I get distracted while eating and forget to chew properly or eat too fast- then it's So I try to eat when the kids are done so I'm not distracted! I'm exercising 3x a week and just started with free weights. My energy is pretty darn good- I'm pretty lucky I've had no major complications!
Hello,
I haven't had a single complication. Thank the Lord! My weight loss is slower than some here-but it's loss none the less. I am eating 3 meals a day=one being a protein shake. (Usually for breakfast). I can eat soup, pudding, and most things I've tried-I have tuna on crackers quite a bit, and chili is another favorite. Meat and fish are not going down so well, leave me feeling as if I've swallowed a golf ball-but I'll try them again in a few weeks. I go back to the Dr. this Thursday for a check up and from what I understand, will begin B12 shots then.
I have never thrown up or dumped-yea. I get hungry just like before but can only eat a little bit before I'm full. Technically I'm supposed to still be on pureed foods-but I've been cheating a little. Seems like some things I'm sure I can't eat-go down well, but things that many others here are eating-don't do so well.
hi all went to see my pcp today i am 4.5 weeks out and have lost a total of 28 lbs not bad - my pcp said that since i've been having my period on and off since my surgery she thinks that i would of lost more but that i must have mostly water - today i have been cleared to get to the gym so i will start asap. i am doing about 4-5 small meals per day - still in between soft and semi pureed - trying to get in all my fluids. i can do about 1 cup of soup - about 7 oz if it has vegetables, 4-5 small spoons of chicken with gravies, or 4-5 spoons of tuna- have thrown up several times- gotta remember to take sips and not gulp liquids - Jo

I am 5 weeks as of last friday, I have lost 34 lbs and have a hard time eating anything.. I dump on an awful lot of things but I am still trying. I feel great until I have to eat... then I just may as well sit by the toilet because no matter what it usually comes back up.. So Im back on full liquids to give my poor pouchy a break. Even after all of this if anyone askes if I would do it again... I say YES FOR SURE!!! I would do it in a heartbeat...

Hi!
I had surgery 12/16/05 and so far ALMOST anything I have tried I have tolerated. The one exception is a protein shake recipe I got off the Alabama board. It contains 2 scoops of carb-freedom ice cream and the 2 times that I have tried it I have had to go directly to bed. I don't know if this is part of dumping or not, but I know that it made me feel horrible.
I am still having pain in my belly button area, too. Has anyone else had a problem with that?
As far as the food log...what is the website addy? Is it fitday.com? I want to put in my food and see where I stand.
Hope everyone has a fantastic week!
