Hi all, Had my three week followup appointment today 4hrs drive each way over mountain passes (major storm last night) but wasn't going to put off having that darn g-tube removed. It is gone......yippeee along with 21 pounds since surgery. Ain't life grand? Thanks for all of the support you guys have given me while I whined about the G-tube. Have a great weekend, GO BRONCO'S. Sherr, Glad to hear that you are doing ok, and that your tube is gone. You and I had surgery done on the same day. How are things working out for you? Melissa

Congrats Sherr on getting out the G-tube!! I get mine out Mon after 6 long weeks! I am sooooo ready! Did it hurt when they took it out? Mine did not hurt for the first week or so, but the last few have been miserable. The doc said it was because I had lost weight (35 lbs) and therefore the tube had more room to move around. All I know is the 3.5 hrs to get to Fla. ( I am in GA) to get it taken out will be more than worth it!! Well, best of luck & keep losing! Alison

Hi Sherr, You're lucky you only had to have it in 3 weeks! I don't get mine out until this Wednesday (4 weeks) when I drive back down to Denver. I'm going to do the 3 week and 6 week classes so I don't have to go back in 2 more weeks! Have you had any problems other than the g-tube? I haven't really - just tired still. Working my sedentary job kicked my butt this week! Diona in Montana

Melissa, I haven't seen you post in the last few days, I was wondering how you were doing, if the job was getting the best of you? I am really doing well especially since I got the tube out it was very painful and would wake me up at night, and I am not one to take pain killers so that get's very wearing on you. Hope all is going well for you. Alison, Well, it was very worth driving over icy mountain roads to get to Denver to have the durn thing pulled. Yes it did hurt when they pulled the balloon out especially because he had to try 3 times before he decided (the PA) that somehow there was more water in the balloon than he put in he couldn't imagin how more got put in there did I do it? I am a medical secretary, not a nurse, Doc, or someone who would even know how to do that, I didn't even know there was a balloon holding it in until I cut one of the stitches because I couldn't stand the pulling any more and then the other stitch disappeared boy was I panicked was afraid that the whole mess would pull out ( you know how it moves around lol) I talked to our wonderful Nurse practitioner who assured me that it would not fall out and calmed my very tattered nerves lol. You will do fine just be aware that it does hurt and it does go away quickly. Diona, You've got mail! Sherr Go Bronco's
