I have been fearful of throwing up. I chew everything to smitherens and watch the label of everything I put in my mouth. Last night.........I was not so fortunate, but it wasn't a big deal in the end.
I was at a restaruant with friends. I have eaten fish and shrimp several times now without any problem. Last night one of the shrimp didn't sit right. I ate one more and sipped a little water, then I just stopped and waited for the slight pressure to abate. As I sat there being calm (haha) I found my mouth full of saliva and remembered the word "foamies" on here. I excused myself and went to the bathroom. I spit out the saliva and my mouth filled again. I spit that out. I still felt some pressure in my throat, so I leaned over the toilet (from a standing postion, slightly bending my head) and the shrimp came out. Two spits, I was done. I went back to the table and ate some soup and finished the evening.
I am being graphic so others may not be so fearful like I was about how bad it might be. I have thrown up maybe twenty times in my whole life so I was very afraid it would kill me!
I will chew better and know to stop when the first bite doesn't sit right. But the best news is, my pouch and insides are still where they are supposed to be! It wasn't my best day post surgery, but it wasn't the end of the world either!

No, but I have had some awful episodes from eating too fast. It just lodged in my stomach and it was painful to the touch. I felt nausea and tried to throw up and nothing came up but thick saliva. The last episode it took me 90 minutes before it came up. That was a week ago and the first time I've

I had my first one yesterday, it came out of nowhere. I was at a restaurant for a post funeral lunch and picked the italian wedding soup and mashed potatoes. I had about 10-15 sips of soup, waited 15 minutes and then about 10 bites of potatoes. The shakes, tingly feeling came over me, I went to the loo and sat there for awhile, eventally making a run. Then it was over. Overall I'd say it was a mild dump.
My sister said the soup was a bit oily - it was also tomato based which I hear makes some dump. The potatoes had a tiny bit of gravy which I avoided but that was also fat and the first significant carb I've eaten. So I'm really not sure what triggered it but have noted tomato soup, restaurant soup and gravy was things to avoid.
