I feel like crap
Hey all,
5 weeks since surgery down 27 lbs. I have been having a problem with very loose bowels for about 3 days. Since last night I've been nauseated also. I've take immodium and its not helped. I don't think I've been eating badly. If you eat something and it doesn't agree with you how long does it take you to know. I'm not talking about indigestion pain or getting stuck pain, maybe I'm dumping , but all I had yesterday was yogurt, cheese, bake potato, and egg drop soup. Maybe I have the flu? Maybe this wouldn't be so bad if I was losing, but I seem to be at a stall for about 2 1/2 weeks. This morning I'm still really nauseated have tried to throw-up but nothing there. I feel like crap.
Sarah,
Sorry you are feeling bad. Have you introduced any new foods recently?
Maybe you have found soemthing that doesn't agree with you. How about dairy? I ended up buying some of those acidophoulus chewables from GNC because I wasn't able to digest dairy very well when I started back on it. Are you eating carb control yogurt? If not, the sugar content may be too high in the brand you are eating.
Sarah,
Sorry that you are feeling bad. I had loose bowels several days after I came home from the hospital and was put on a med called Flagyl because they said that I had an infection. I would monitor what you are eating to see if it is truly a stomach virus, flu or maybe lactose intolerance to all the diary products that you are eating. But, my best advice would be to contact your doctor. You would hate to get dehydrated like Doris said.
I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Sarah,
I am almost 6 weeks post op and my kids all had the stomach bug and I ended up feeling nauseated and getting the dry heaves at about 3 weeks out. I called the doctor and they said to keep up with the protein shakes and water so my body could heal. I thought I should not eat until the bug was out of my system but the doctor said that was not the thing to do. I had a hard time getting anything down, however it passed and I was fine by the 4th day. I wonder if the yogurt may be causing you to dump because of the sugar content like the other responder mentioned. Also, the baked potato has such a big carb count, that too may be affecting you and causing you to dump. However, if the feeling doesn't go away for a few days and is constant, it probably is a bug. Call your surgeon's office. That's what they are there for. Dannon makes a great carb counting yogurt and it is at Walmart and sometimes Target and cost $1.96 compared to $3.99 at Stop & Shop and Shaw's. Also ask you doctor if you can take Dairy Ease or some type of lactose pill to help digest lactose. I don't know if it is okay with your new pouch but it is worth asking. I hope you feel better soon.
