The Big Q!
All,
The past week has been one of blahs and queasiness! Last Thursday, I started experiencing new stomach problems. I went from heartburn from something simple as taking a deep breath to feeling ready when I drink or eat anything. It progressed to actual physical pain.
Well, after a week of this I called my surgeon (I know!). I had an upper GI yesterday and the results came back normal. It was amazing to me that the lab tech didn't check to see that I had a recent RNY and the Radiologist told her she had set up the wrong barium liquids for me. My new stomach on X-ray looked like a small plum. The test came back normal. I'm still experiencing physical pain when I swallow and the food settles in my stomach. So, they have me set up for a EGD next week.
I was talking on the phone while watching 'Dancing With the Stars' and not paying attention to what I was consuming and snarfed down my food. It lodged in my stomach and I was doubled over with pain. It took 90 minutes of constant running before it came up. I have never been so happy to in my life. Now, my actual stomach is sore to the touch. In the past few weeks I could consume my liquids with no problem. Now, I'm back to sip, sip then I'm uncomfortably full.

Jennifer,
He did give me two sample packs of Prevacid. I took all of them and the symptoms have gotten worse. I will see him this Monday for my 1 month follow-up visit. My fear is that I'm developing an ulcer.
I'm babying my pouch today. Yesterday was the first time I've since surgery. I think the queasiness is worse than the actual act.
Thanks for your concern,
C~
All,
My surgeon went over my upper GI test results and the plumbing is working well. It seems that there is a nasty stomach virus in my area. I had body aches, stomach pain and nausea. If there had been a blockage I would've had some episodes. I've only thrown up once in 5 weeks.
I was given my clearance to go back to work next week. Two days later I'm feeling pretty good.
Thanks for your concern,
