The December board Stalls- but not for long!

Ok guys, it seems like so many of us on this board are at a stall. I am at a major one- nearly 2 weeks now! Had my surgery on 12/19 and it's driving me crazy! I've tried cutting calories (idiotic!) working out more, drowning myself in water, taking off everything even my HAIR SCRUNCHY before weighing etc... I am so programmed to believe it is something bad I've done that is causing the stall that I'm driving myself Logic and experience of others tells us that this is normal and we will begin losing again. This is temporary! But, I still think that perhaps I'm the ONE person that will ONLY lose 17lbs from this surgery and maybe there's some exotic defect in my body that makes it immune to gastric bypass! Am I the only one with crazy thoughts and schemes to get the scale to move? Come on, share your deepest darkest neurosis!

You've inspired me Lisa! If you stick to it, I will. No more weighing until Monday! You are where I've longed to be - close to being under 200! Kudos to you, girl and I know we'll bust through all this nonsense!

Oh my GOD this is eerie. I couldn't wait either and weighed today (we're sick puppies aren't we?) and lost 2lbs as well! Finally a minor reprieve in the stall and hopefully a sign of things to come!

Ladies, I have jumped on and off the scale so many times this week and I know that it's a It never budged even when I took off all of my clothes. My jeans and belt have to weigh at least a couple of lbs. It seems that I only drop weight on Saturdays. Today it was 4lbs! Last Saturday it was 3lbs! 3lbs the week before. Everyone that I talk too says that it doesn't come off as fast the first few months and then one day it will start falling off. Continue to take your vitamins, protein, drink your water, get your exercise and rest. My scale is evil!!! Chauncine ~27

Hi all I decided to start off with my first stall FIRST - 10 days to get back to my pre-op weight. BUT today showed 12 pounds gone !!!!! FINALLY !!! I truly thought I was the one out of how many bazillion surgeries to have it fail. I am so jazzed. I might even catch up to some of you other December Dicees. (smile) Besides - it is for the longgggg haul so we're all doing so good - it's fabulous !!! Shar 312.5/240/228/150 5'-8" High/Pre-op/Current/Goal Out to dinner tonight - called ahead and they'll do me grilled shrimp, steamed vegetables, baked potato and/or ranch beans (no sugar) Sounds entirely do-able.

I too have stalled. I get so depressed about it. I can't eat any less and be healthy..I'm only eating protein. I've walked till I can't stand , drank till I floated and still no loss for over two weeks. UUUGGGHHHH! I'm glad that I am not the only one..this seems to be happening to quite a few of us Dec cuties. all we can do is hang in there and wait ..patiently...tic!.... tic!....tic!....tic!....tic!........ sunny

We are the December Stall sisters! Soon to be the December Loser sisters! I'm going to have a long talk with my scale, maybe when I reason with it things will be different.

I feel like I am in a stall also. I live on the scale. I knew I wasn't eating or drinking enough and have tried to up both. I too want to see it drop now not next month. Will have to learn to wait. I didn't measure but I know my clothes are getting bigger. Now thats something I don't understand. How can you loose inches and not pounds. Thats ok I'll take it any way it comes

Yes it IS possible to lose inches and not pounds. I've been told that by my dr. and have seen it myself during past weight losses. If you exercise at all you could be building muscle too. Either way it's a good thing- good for you !

Measure the inches and compare to pre op. I was stalled and then read that somewhere. I was down 20 in the first two weeks and 5 over the next two weeks. But I was 4.5 inches smaller in my waist and 6 in my hips. WOW was all I kept saying. In week five, the scale has moved two more pounds down. Vicky
