No desire to eat after larger meal (1 cup to 1 1/2 cups)
I have absolutely no desire to eat the next meal after a substantial meal. I don't believe I'm overeating because I don't get sick, I'm just comfortably able to eat more at occasions and then the next meal forget it. I'm supposed to maintain a 1000 - 1200 calorie diet, but if I get a meal that exceeds 300 calories or something like that. I can't handle anymore. I've eaten 3 oz. of chicken, 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and the next meal forced myself to have some cheerios, 1 % milk and splenda as dinner . What kind of craziness is this? Anyone have some insight on this? Please let me know.

Hi Holli
Had similar experience yesterday. Didn't get lunch until 1:30 and it was 2 oz shrimp, 2 oz zuchini, 1/3c broth. Went down real nicely but at 6:00 had a hard time getting dinner down. Then felt lousy the rest of the evening.
BUT the good news is that I lost 3 pounds yesterday.
I heard our metabolism likened to a furnace which constantly needs fuel to work efficienly - so I just need to be more regular about timing. 5 hours works great - 4 hours wasn't great.
I'm averaging 500-600 cals w/90-110g protein. I'm still anemic from surgery complications but have great energy until evening - then watch out!
Was the chicken light or dark and did it need some sort of sauce to get it down? Dry has been my problem with anything other than shrimp. So I've mainly been eating shrimp and protein powder.
Best of luck on this fabulous journey!

I was just given the okay to begin puree on Friday- I have 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or 1-2 oz tuna with low fat mayo, or a scrambled egg and that is it for a loooong while. I can do puree about once in the day- the rest is liquid- the shakes. A golf ball doesn't hold much- and that's the size of my pouch.
Holli,
I am in the same boat as you. If I go out to eat or at a special occasion then I usually am satisfied for the rest of the day and have to force myself to eat or drink anything at the next meal. I know that I am not eating a lot either, it just seems like a lot. I guess this is temporary or at least I hope.

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days...but my surgeon set up this food progression.
10 days liquids
18 days pureed
14 days soft solids
then regular solids
I'm still not eating a lot, but it's working better than it was. Just learning what I can and can't eat is a challenge. Shrimp is great. Bread must be toasted. Salad is ok. Chicken must be thighs, legs or wings. No pop. Stop when full....
Those are my lessons at 4 1/2 weeks....good luck and God bless for those still on pureed.....your day will come!
Lots of love,
Holli
