Where ya at!!???
Hi M.M.-
I am so bored with full liquids I could cry. I have a huge binder of recipes from the nutritionist for each stage of the "food for healing" stages but would give a lung for some roast chicken or an egg.
Drinks in a typical day - water, 50/50 water and 100% fruit juice, carb countdown or skim milk, and I was told I could count Nectar as water since it is a clear protein drink. I'm probably between 50 and 70 oz. per day.
I do get to eat whatever I can get though a metal strainer if it is a soup with less than 2 grams of sugar per serving so I blend the life out of campbell's and that seems to be saving me from the boredom some. At least there are a lot of flavors of that.
Excercise i**** or miss - I have a 5 and a nearly 3 year old so I'm chasing one or the other down a fair amount. Other than that, I'm trying to make sure I'm walking 20 minutes to half hour a day- not necessarily all at once but do when I can.
Best,
Michele P
more than my 64oz of water. protein shake for bf. yogurt, pudding, or jello for lunch. and dinner now is experimental. yesterday was tuna and a baked potato. tuna wasn't very good, but i'm doing great have not dumped and can gulp and take bigger bites than the avg. wls patient. i consider myself lucky!
walk about 30 min a day and they just cleared me to start lifting weights!!!wooohooo!!!
I am 4 weeks out and have lost about 35 pounds (I try not to weigh myself all the time...go****'s hard). I'm sure the weight loss would be more if I wasn't so sick for the past couple of weeks. I have been to dizzy and light headed to do much of anything. But I am doing better now and WATCH OUT I am going to make some serious progress!
I started in neutral but finally moved the scale a bit !!! down 6 pounds this a.m. Whooopee!! I'm starting on the treadmill today. I had a complication after surgery and have been unable to do much - but feel pretty good this morn.
I've been exercising for 3 years so this slump has been a real bummer.
It's so motivating to hear everyone's progress. Keep it up and congrats to all of us !!!
I also had my surgery on the 27th. I went for my 2 week check up on Monday the 11th. I am down 16lbs. Im happy with that. I will take it all in stride. This is a learning experience for us all. Plus I was also told you don't want to loose too much too fast due to the fact you are losing muscle not fat.

Hi All,
I also had surgery on the 27th, I went to the Dr. today and am down 10 lbs, I had really hoped for more but I guess, I'll take it as it comes. Does any one else who had surgery about that time still hurt? I don't hurt bad and am not on pain killers but seems as if I kind of ache all of the time, and I am really whiney. I did go off my anti-depressant the day of surgery and haven't started again, not sure if it is because of that or just the surgery in general.
Have a great day.
Sherr
Hi Sherr,
I had my surgery 2 days after you and I am still sore too! Just in general when I move suddenly or walk for long periods my incisions start to ache.
I am also totally emotional and getting really *****y! I also got off my anti depressants the day before surgery and I just started on Sunday. It is already helping! I really needed to get back on them!
If you feel you are ready, I would start back on your meds, being without them for too long can make us do things that we can't be held accountable for! lol....
Hope you get feeling better!
