Food Intake

Hi JaNae and everyone! This food intake thing is interesting. I sometimes wake up and have a teesie cup of coffee, other times I head straight for the Isopure Protein Shake (tons of protein, only add water and ice). Around lunch I eat some of my bean soup... ya know, those slim bag of bean soups? Sometimes split pea, lentil, 7 bean, 5 bean, etc... I have been living and loving these soups! They not only fill me up but are filled with protein. I try to stay away from dairy as it has made me nautious, but at times I do add cheese, egg beaters, lactaid milk or a tiny bit of cottage cheese. I have wanted to explore other options, but I am so comfortable on this food that sometimes I do not want to take the ris**** filled protein shakes fill me up for a long time and so does the soup. There was one time I tried to guzzle my ice water since I always loved to do that and kind of got carried away and it hurt like hell...my eyes got very wide and I just stopped dead in my tracks...and did NOT do that again. Of course, the warmth in my pouch feels terrific which is why the soup has helped cause comfort. I've also tried other soups such as: 1 - Brocolli Cheese 2 - Cream of Potato 3 - Cream of Brocolli I stay clear of any pasta (high in fat) and get my protein in FIRST always. Like many of you, I feel as though my pouch is stretching. I am experiencing acid and after having to do a barium swallow this week, was rediagnosed with acid reflux. Evidently, the opening from my esophagus to my stomach is larger than it should be. HOPEFULLY, more weight loss will result in more comfort, but for now I have to take Protonix. I rarely eat dinner, I usually go for a protein shake and maybe some mashed potatos and that is only sometimes. It's wonderful to be able to read how everyone is progressing. I've lost 27lbs since the surgery and try to do some kind of exercise everyday. Exercise really does help to kick start the weight loss again. Treadmill and water aerobics are my favorite. Have a great week everyone! Shannon

Hi all, I've also been lurking on the board... My surgery was 12/28 and I'm on soft foods. I get to move to "real" food on Tuesday (but who's counting -- haha). I'm having a huge problem getting all my food in, especially in the mornings. My surgeon wants us eating three meals a day and I just can't get in enough protein doing that. Thank god for protein powder I can add to my drinks throughout the day!
