Hi all, My surgery was 12-28 and I weighed 240. Next day I weighed 247. I kept saying I'm going the wrong way. Now, after 1 week I am down to 235.8. I'm 60 and heard a similar pattern on another super senior. Finally, she has started serious wt loss - 45 pounds in her next 2 months. I'm hoping to start some serious numbers real soon. (I can't exercise quite yet because I had to have 3 units of blood the day after I went home. I'm still a bit anemic) Good thoughts for us all !!! Shar

I had my Surgery on the 16th of december and in the Hosp I was up a few pounds, they told me it was because of the IV fluids and such.. I think its common... Im Now down 25 lbs and losing inches all over.. So it was just the step back before the running start. (((HUGS))) Dori

I was in the hospital for six days and in that time I gained thirty pounds of water from all of the stuff that they were pumping through my IVs after I got home all of tha****er weight came off in about a week and a half. I went in the hospital at 369 came out at 396 and now my weight is 335 in four and a half weeks. The more I moved around and walked the faster the weight came off. I'd walk for 15 min go to the bathroom and so on just tried to make sure that a bathroom was always close by. In the begining my wife would take me to Giant Eagle (local supermarket) and we would just walk the isles to get me a little bit of exersize. It started slow but boy am I happy that I had the WLS.
