Having Dilation done tomorrow
I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor today after my recent hospitalization for dehydration. I am STILL having problems keeping anything but liquids down. (I even got sick on my LIQUID meds today, grrrrr.) So, anyway, he scheduled me for an endoscopy and dilation tomorrow. I really hope this is the problem and that it will all be fixed tomorrow. He says it is very soon to have this type of problem following surgery, but I did have a stomach virus that caused a lot of vomiting a few weeks back. That could have created some swelling and then narrowing. It's pretty dangerous to have a dilation done after bariatric surgery, but my doctor doesn't see any other choice. He basically said, "Well, I can keep admitting you for dehydration, or we can try this." I just want to be able to eat and drink again!!!! So, after barely eating for 3 days, I have to be without anything after midnight tonight, and then my appointment at the hospital is at 1:45 pm tomorrow. I'm already weak as can be right now, so I can't imagine how I will feel then.
I know in the long run this will all be worth it. I'm already excited about seeing the weight loss results!! Just keep me in your prayers that the dilation does the trick. I'm soooooooo hungry!!!

Lap RNY 12-5-05
26.5 lbs lost!!!!
Hi I had lap RNY DEC 9, and my 30 yr old daughter had it in Kansas CIty Nov 7. 5 weeks post op she had the procedure you are getting, she had been having trouble keeping things for almost 2 weeks, so her trouble started about 3 1.2 wks post op. She did fine with the procedure and has been able to eat soft foods and liquids fine now. I am praying for it to go well for you, too.
