Doing ok - thanks for support
I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and support after getting my denial on Wednesday afternoon for my Thursday morning surgery. I was devastated, but I am doing much better now. I started the appeal process that very afternoon (as soon as I got off the phone with the doctors office). On Thursday, I went into the doctors office and was measured and GUESS WHAT?????? I am 5'4"!!!! Imagine if someone had done it right all along I would have been approved. For some reason God didn't want me to have my surgery on Thursday and I am ok with that. I got a call from BCBS-Personal Choice (the Appeal person) today (WOW less than 42 hours later) to go over my appeal. I explained to the person that my height was incorrect at the doctors office and that it had been corrected. She told me they just needed that information faxed to them to get it rolling. I left a very nice message for the doctors office (I was not blaming anyone and I want their help to get this moving) to please fax this necessary letter to the insurance company. I will call next week and see what is happening, but hope that all will be well. I am actually ready to put my surgery off until the end of January due to some plans that have come up that I don't want to miss out on (going away and eating, lol).
Patricia,
Sorry to hear that things did not work out for you like you would have liked them to. But, like you said there was a reason why you were not supposed to have surgery that day.
This was my second time through the process, so when things worked out and I got approval and a date I was waiting for something to happen. Nothing did, I had surgery on Tuesday and came home last night.
Best of luck to you,
Melissa
