Hey I just wanted to add that making sure the water was filtered helps. I couldn't stand tap or DASANI because of too much minerals. Hope this helps. Carol G.

Jumpin' on the bandwagon here... I had my surgery 12/12 Taste in mouth was disgusting, not so much these couple of days, but before it was terrible. I could barely drink even water. My nurse friend suggested a banana shake w/ protein powder (I had to ease into a scoop) and it began to slowly but surely go away. I also had help with the medication phenagren (sp?). I get no nausea now because of that med. and b/c I am so sensitive to taste, I was able to get that medication flavored w/ nearly any flavor I wanted. I chose Banana flavored and I can get it down fine. I brush my teeth at least 3 times a day and as most of you, had to change the flavor of my toothpaste. It's definitely been a process, up and down, but now managing to eat: 1 - Scrambled eggs (egg beaters) w/ shredded cheese (2 tablespoons) 2 - Banana shake: ice, water, 2 squirts of lactaid milk, protein powder, shot of vanilla, banana 3 - refried beans or lentil bean soup blender I still sometimes get that "taste" in my mouth, especially after I burp, but it's slowly but surely getting better.
